Hey guys,

I've have searched for past topics but couldn't find any.

Anyway, my friend wants to buy HIDs for his '00 Celica; either 6000k or 8000k. Since it already has projectors, is it pretty much easy to install (I'm assuming)?

Also, with the ballast, I should hide them from view? Yes?

Thanks in advance,

Peter.

yeah projector is better than no projector. its pretty easy to install just buy a ebay hid kit with the right bulb size (h7?) its plug and play. hide the ballasts for a clean look and hide from cops.

Thanks. I believe it's H4 (low beams) but I will check out the manual when I see him. $50 from ebay last time I checked. :)

They're H1s stock (pretty sure, mine are H4 but they're not stock.)

Edit: had a quick look, interwebs say H7? Better check your handbook.

Yep will do, next time I see him I'll check the handbook. I'm rather confused too by just looking up on the web. Should double check with book. :)

careful you need a spacer, make sure the kit comes with them

Does anyone know if my friend's Celica needs a spacer? If someone knows, please let me know. I rather find out now if I need one than when I try to install it. Thanks.

If its this shape

Yes, as the bulb sits further in than normal, but if you're buying a kit that says its for the celica, it should fit, normal h7 globes won't fit without the piece of plastic i linked before.

Same goes for all the zze corollas

Thanks mate. Will check the kit for a spacer when it comes as I have already ordered it.

Just had a look at the kit i ordered and nope, there's no spacer included..haha

Going to go check autobarn, supercheap auto and probably bursons on monday. :)

The spacer makes life easier and the bulb stays in position much better.

Did you manage to find one? I have 2 from a old HID kit which I have transferred to each one of my new HID's. I wouldn't mind getting more.

they're hard to find, i found some lying around in an old hid kit i had interstate

before i found them i used coke bottle caps, but they started to melt onto the bulb, you can bend the hooks so that it holds the bulb in place, but your best bet is to find some spacers
