Hi,

I'm new to these forums so a big hello to everyone here.

I recently purchased my girlfriend a 1995 Toyota Celica ZR. Quite a nice little car, but there is a nagging question that's been bugging me.

Did the ZR model come out of the factory with remote central locking fitted standard, not as an option?

The previous owner gave us this dodgy silver key which seems more like something you'd have cut, leading me to believe she lost the original keys at some point. I know that if you turn the key in the drivers door it unlocks both doors, but would there be a remote for it? I also happened to notice it has a factory alarm system, but i've never ever heard the thing go off.

I've looked up classified ads and they all seem to mention having it, and NRMA road tests from the time seem to support my theory the car had it as a standard item, but if someone here could confirm this or tell me what i should be looking for under the dash, i would be most appreciative.

Thanks,

Graham
