Anybody install cruise control using this method?

Had a quick flick through. Since the Aurius uses drive-by-wire this is probably all that is needed as it can just tell the throttle where to sit. No need for a throttle cable control box (or whatever it's real name is) since it doesn't have one.

So can I use this for my corolla? Just buy the spare parts from Toyota and fit it myself?

Without having documented attempting this on an Australian ZRE, we can only guess. In theory, it looks like it could work, but that doesn't mean I'm saying that yes, it will work.

Also, this has been discussed before which can be found by searching 'cruise control' in the Corolla forum. I think this sums it up:

ZRE Cruise Control

Well guys, unfortunately, even if the ECU does have the cruise control capabilities, I can't see any way of plugging into it because that empty socket in the steering wheel to plug the cable into isn't there.

So, any other suggestions, now that I have the parts in hand? I wonder if I could hard wire it into the computer.

The Ascent Model for 2007-2008 ZRE152 don't have that extra port to plug the OEM cruise controller in.

So maybe look to see if you have the connector firstly.

I will check if I have the connector available first.

I also have a automatic car... maybe cruise control is not available for manual ZRE Corollas?

Cruise control is still available regardless of the transmission.

I see. Bummer.

So looks like there has not been a single Aussie corolla fitted with a CC as stated in the UK thread?
