The auto gearbox oil in my 2007 Camry Altise is looking dirty, as in no longer clear red

How discolored can it become before it needs changing ?

The car has done 80,000 kilometres much of it on hilly terrain and dirt roads

at 80,000kms i would recommend a gear box oil change (including diff). i would recommend against having it flushed though.

you should replace it either at recommended service intervals (obviously), when it is discoloured such as in your case, or it has a burnt smell.

Thanks for the quick response

It doesn't have a burnt smell but is discoloured

The car has done a lot of hill and dirt road travel which probably makes the automatic gearbox work harder

I'll take your advice and get the oil changed at the next Toyota service due at 82,500kms
