Hi all, just wondering who has had there 80,000km service? It requires the 'inner' fuel filter in the tank replaced and i'm curious to see who has had it replaced and who has changed it themselves as the tank apparently has to removed.. Cant quite understand why Toyota went this way and why they dont just run an external filter  Apparently the VE commodore is the same too let me know guys.

Ouch......how much have they quoted you? Im up to 70,000, so next service might hurt!

I used to have a Honda Jazz. The fuel filter was also inside the fuel tank.

Honda once quoted me $200 to replace this filter.

What is the benefit of having the fuel filter in this location?

I found this:

http://www.repcotrade.com.au/go/news/ryco-in-tank-fuel-filters

It doesn't really mention much about the benefits of an in tank fuel filter though.

I had my 80,000K service done about 4 months ago. I have the prior model Kluger (2004) and they didn't have to do this for my baby! They changed air filters and did the regular stuff, so it might just be a new Kluger thing.

My service cost me all up $280. (Including new wiper blades!!)

If you're in Tasmania - North Hobart Automotive - much better than Co-op!

All 80K services on Toyota's have a fuel filter replacement, apart from the new Hilux Diesel models...

Your 2004 model Kluger does have a filter replacement at 80K, and it's under the passenger middle row seat...

Tank doesn't need to come out, just remove the passenger side middle row seat, lift up the service hole and access the top of the tank... You will need a special service tool to undo the upper plastic ring... Been told the Toyota and Honda tools are vertually the same...

rolla boy you also forgot that current camry and aurions have 150000km interval fuel filter replacemant and older models were 75000km

and with diesel hilux and hiace if any owners read this you should replace your fuel filters every 20-50000km as our diesel in australia is well **** and injectors and pumps arnt cheap but fuel filters are $40
