Metalic Paint

Ok OK... i'm getting a respray done on my 93 seo... i've already brought jet black paint which the painter has used for the engine bay / interior... noe my question is..... is the metalic just and add-in? or does the paint have to brought as a metalic?

the metallic look is created by incorporating tiny flakes of Mica into the paint... though how it is prepared I have no idea

it can be bought as black metallic or you can choose different levels of metallic flakes for example most cars out there are a "MICRO" metallic but if you want a glittery effect you can go for a "MEDIUM" or "CO****" metallic.....depending on brand you can find coloured metallic flakes as well....these are not pearls!!
