Replacement Kluger KX-R dashboard

Hi all,

A newbie here. Just bought our first- secondhand Kluger 2WD KX-R.

Since I bought the car I have noticed some staining (passenger and drivers side) on the dashboard. It looks like white paint, tippex or something was spilled and someone tried to clean it with thinner, acetone. It has a left a stain which is impossible to remove with soap/water.

Is there anything I can do to restore the dashboard to an 'as-new' condition? From what I have read on the net, it seems like spray painting it is the only solution using specialist products, at a specialist garage. Might this be something a crash repairer would do?

As an alternative, how easy is it to remove and replace the whole dashboard- or should I not go there?

Taking it back to the dealer is not an option as it was sold as is.

Thanks for your help.

Simon

There are touchup guys around that can fix those things very easily, and most of them are mobile. It's far cheaper and quicker to do then opening the bag of worms that is removing the dashboard.

I wouldn't recommend pulling the dashboard out. I changed the dashboard in an old 1985 Nissan Gazelle a few years ago. There were wires running everywhere. I couldn't even begin to imagine the wiring in a modern day car now.
