Very clever and simple work-around... It makes sense to stop the nut from rotating (by putting the hook) if the spare wheel is accessed from the outside.

I just bought my Kluger yesterday and I'm going to follow your technique...

I have never used the spare! So by putting the leaver through the loop, that stops the chain from lowering?????

So how do the thief's lower the chain if they cant get in the car?
