Head unit sd card issue
Signed up to say thank you. Had a similar problem on my car. Battery died so called someone to replace it. Found that the audio system does not work anymore. STEPS for newbies/non-tech people: 1) Get SD card if you don't have one. Probably from Kmart: SanDisk Ultra MicroSD with MicroSDHC and MicroSDXC Adapter SQUA4 - 32GB - Kmart 2) Downloaded the four files linked by nzkicks 3) Format your SD to FAT32 format and then copy the files across to the SD card 4) Take it to your car. 5) Turn on the engine of your car. Wait for the audio system to say "Program required to load the system" or something like that 6) Insert the SD card 7) It should then ask you for security code. For me, it was last 5 digits of my VIN number. and then it works 😄 -

Replacing 1999 Hiace fuel pump
Hi Curtis1995 I am in the process of dropping the fuel tank on my 2000 HiAce van to replace the pump. It appears you've managed to remove all 3 of the hoses to/from the pump/tank. I have managed to disconnect the 2 with simple squeeze clips but am having no joy in disconnecting the final one. I have attempted to loosen it using ring spanners with no joy. Do you have a special technique with this or am I taking the wrong approach? I have read that some connection require special tools. I hope this isn't the case for this. Next on the agenda will be the filter. Not looking forward to that either. 😮 Cheers -

Key FOB registered but remote not working
Hi, I got a third-party key fob online and registered it to my RAV4 2018. The process was fully successful but the new key works like the original key without a battery. I changed the new remote battery, but nothing changed. 1. Remote button (Both lock and unlock) not responding. I used the computer diagnose function to check the remote, it came back as "remote not registered". The remote was sending "locking and unlocking" signal correctly. 2. Key less entry function not working. When holding the key and opening the front door, the door won't unlock. 3. Push start won't work. The car can't detect the key. I have to hold the key against the start button to turn on the car. Basically, the newly paired remote is same as the original remote without the battery. Can someone please help me with that. -

Charge the battery, get the engine running and then check the voltage across the battery terminals. Sounds like your alternator might be dying -

AE102 Corolla suddenly stopped and now won't start. HELP PLS
Hi All, I’m new to this forum and hope someone might be able to help me please, to determine the problem with my Corolla. I have a 1996 AE102 1.8 litre manual hatchback, done 110k kms. It has been looked after and had no problems until recently. While driving down the highway the car started to stutter and lose power. All the dash lights lit up and so I had to coast to a stop. When I tried to restart the car, it would turn on then idle for maybe 20-30seconds and then splutter and die. After a few attempts it would not start at all so I needed to get it towed home. A couple of days later after charging the battery overnight (in case that was part of the problem, but I don’t think it was that flat), I managed to start it and took it for a short drive and it seemed to run ok. I drove it for about 30 mins each day for about a week until it suddenly started to die again on startup. This time when I started it, it would idle for 5-10seconds then stall and the engine light would half illuminate and flicker yellow as it stalled and died. I tried this a few times and unfortunately now even after charging the battery again it won’t start at all. I tried fault finding using the diagnostic port and putting a wire across the T3 and E1 pins. The result was a constant even blinking of the yellow engine check light, which I understand from forums means no fault codes ?. So, at this point I have no idea what the problem might be and how to proceed. I’m hoping someone might have some helpful insights. Thanks for reading this post, Mike. -
