Front Fog Light Project - Toyota Runx

Recommended Posts

I was cleaning my 2001 Toyota Runx this morning and I had the LH and RH engine covers and fender guards removed and I noticed two(2) brown (or red) connectors on both the LHS and RHS of the front bumper close to where the front fog lights would be located (my car does not have fog lights although this plans to be my next project).

I printed the fog light wiring diagram (from the workshop manual that Northy had posted some time back) and I am in the process of identifying all the major components in the front fog light system and so far here is what I have found:

1) 15A front fog light fuse located under the glove box

2) 2-pole connectors for attachment to the fog light

What I need to know is this:

1) Where is the front fog light switch located?

2) Is there a front fog light dashboard light?

Thanks in advance for your responses and any advice that may be offered.

I recently had mine done utilising those existing brown/red looms.

Can't tell you specifics because I had my trusty Auto Electrician carry out the work, however I can tell you, The Corolla/Allex/Runx factory fog light switch is fitted to the indicator stalk, so if you don't have the fog lights as standard fitment, you need to fit a switch to the dash somewhere.

I had mine placed where the coin holder is next to the electric mirror control.
