2016 Aurion - Memory keeper 4 battery change?

Recommended Posts

Hi there, I'm going to change the battery on the 2016 Aurion ATX (great car btw). Can anyone tell me whether it's necessary to use one of those memory keeper/saver thingimees to ensure the vehicle doesn't lose any important settings?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Doctor Death,

I can say from experience that when I replaced my battery a few years ago, nothing changed in my settings. Swapped the batteries, turned on the car and everything was as it was. I suspect the ECU's capacitance storage may have enough power stored in it just for this very thing. If left for days with no battery, then I would think the memory will be wiped as the power slowly discharges.

Let us know how you go mate.
