Destination download app went missing after update.

Hi everyone,

My wife took possession of a very low kilometre 2014 Rav4 GLX last Thursday and she's very happy. I put the Toyota Link app on the phone, was Bluetooth connected, clicked on destination download on the app and it said it needed to update. Did the update and as soon as the update was finished the app disappeared. Has anybody else had this problem or know how to resolve it please?

Thank you very much in advance for all of your help!

Ah the joys of modern tech. Hi John and welcome to the forum.

It's possible it was just a glitch, but it could also be a compatibility issue with your phone's O.S.

Have you tried downloading the app again ? You should also try it on another phone.

Your phone software may need an update.

Hey Tony,

Thank you for the reply! I don't think I was clear enough sorry, the app on the head unit in the car is the one that's gone missing, (Download Destination) phone all up-to-date

Thanks for replying!

Hi guys,

I am facing the same issue.

Are you able to resolve it ?

Thanks

Hi Mukesh,

After a lot off phone calls to Toyota I finally found out that they have ceased to support the app so it is no longer a functioning app. When you do an update it just deletes it.

Man,  that's diabolical. So in essence, any new Toyota head unit has a shelf life of 5to 6 years before they cut it off. Absolutely absurd.

Just use Google maps instead. It's a far more superior navigation system anyway.
