Put a set of car keys in the centre console cup holder directly behind the gear stick. A key lodged itself in behind the self opening lid. After much difficulty we managed to dislodge the keys but have lost a Toyota hilux electronic key under the lid where it sits when open. We now have the lid fully opened. Is there anyway of removing the lid itself to be able to retrieve the key inside?

Unfortunately no. The lid is fixed to the underside of the centre console. You'll have to carefully remove the centre console to rectify the situation. I'm sure there's plenty of YouTube videos on how to remove the centre console.

If you do, could you upload some photos for this DIY as others may benefit too.

Cheers
