TRD Rear Sway Bar Install

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I finally got around to installing the TRD rear sway bar I picked up from Castle Hill Toyota.

Ive taken the old one out and put in the TRD one. I was wondering as I didnt get instructions for it. What is the required torque on the nuts?

I tried searching for this, only came up with strut bar information.

I was looking through the corolla manual. It has (Stabilizer bar X Rear Axel Beam) I assume this is it. It has a specification of 149N.m

Anyone have any ideas?

I found that the top nut turns, where as the bottom nut doesnt seem to move till the top one does.

Ill find out as soon as I drive it around a bit.

The torque value on those nuts is 149 Nm/110 lb-ft. I installed this myself as well and torqued the nuts to specification and I haven't had a problem.

It handles better as well although it can tend to oversteer sometimes but for me, that is not really a problem.
