  1. I have knocked a hole in one of my tail lights and want to replace with some newies. Preferably aftermarket if they are legal and reasonably priced...but if they're too expensive then I'll just fit some stock tail lights on. Any info on the best place to look appreciated. Cheers cyba
  2. cheers Mole - where would you look? ebay had a few options for aftermarket...most were around $200 inc delivery. I'm interested in the illegality though - I'd hate to blow my dough. There's a dude on there selling a stock pair for around $70 delivered so that may be the go, but I'd love to spend a little more and get a better look. My Celica's silver, so lends itself to the silvery coloured rears imho...
  3. Gday all - I've been a Toyota fan for a couple of decades now. My first car was a 1975 Celica - British racing green in colour. I got new mags for it, put in a slightly upgraded 1.8 motor and got the whole body redone to a custom-show-car level. It cost quite a bit of dough, but it was a beautiful little buzz box to drive around in. Worst decision I made was selling that car. But... More recently I have bought a 2000 ZR Celica. It is a sweet ride - what a great hidden secret that little donk is. I'm amazed more of the motoring journos and public didn't jump behind this great little car. It's a very light drinker and yet when you put your foot down it's ready to party, it offers a go-kart driving experience and even the stock version turns heads wherever it goes. I absolutely love this Celica. I'm from Perth and currently here to find some parts that I need. I've broken 1 rear light so want to replace both rears and want advice on the best options in terms of colours, and where to get them cheap. I'm not spending a lot of money on this car, so every dollar saved helps. Personal info - Liberal voter, anti-speed cameras with a passion, Geelong Cats fan, general sports nut. Glad to be here and I hope to learn a lot from you guys.
  4. You can get out of it if: - the camera was at all on an incline. - if your vehicle appears to be changing lanes (extra good if one indicator happened to be on). - if there are multiple vehicles in the shot. - if it was raining at all. - if it was on a bend. If the photos aren't conclusive, the cops will probably call your bluff and take you to court. Then you have to pay costs...it costs them nothing. Unfortunately there's nothing "just" about speed cameras - they're just a big money making scam by state governments, and it costs you more to contest them than to pay up, so most people just roll over and pay up. I'm hoping a few years from now speed cameras will be gone once everyone realises what a con they've been. Who knows, you may get your money refunded then. Good luck anyways.
  5. Maybe...but the Celica's still prettier. ;)
