Hey all,
I have been doing some research on these two cars and they seem to be a very well kept secret here in Aus. The Aristo in particular has grabbed my attention, Its got the 2JZ TT from the Supra in a sedate yet stylish looking luxury saloon, all for $15-$20K! these were the JDM version of our Lexus GS300.
Then theres the Chaser's I had not seen these before except for in GT2 (remember the black touring car?), its similar but with a 2.5 single turbo and in a more mid sized sedan, manual trans too, but are $25-$30K, i think they would the more performance orienated out of the two.
Has anyone had any experience with either of these cars? Or any thoughts?
Cheers.

Hi Geoff.. it cost a fair bit but my mate installed the lcds for me for no cost so .
Is ur car repaired yet ?

One saturday morning I went to a (undisclosed) car yard here in coffs and tried to get test drive in 350Z, but the salesman demanded to see proof of my bank accounts, and looked me up and down and sniggered.
Well, I wasn't going to buy one :P the sales man picked me :P ...so I went to the ford yard across the road and took an XR6T ute for a fang

I have been thinking of doing exactly the same thing GAZOOM.
I'm going to play around with some designs and get some quotes done by fabricators. Im set on getting a side mounted scoop, which if done right, wouldnt look out of place. Yes, that chunky SSV thing would funny, but an intergrated scoop would look sick I reckon.

in reply to sportiyo's comment...
I have noticed that in MOTOR mag they quote the sportivo times as 8.21 0-100km/h, and 16.0 0-400m.
BUT that was done in 2003 prior to the ECU recall, I remeber they dynoed it too and got 80 odd kw/atw.
obviously those figures are wrong.

hahah iknow how it feels man ..... ive had a 12 month suspension before lol
Yep suspension s#cks b#lls big time. I can top both of you unfortunately, I get my licence back on September 19 2008. I had an at fault accident while my licence and rego were cancelled for unpaid fines (idiot!). Karma got me and I can accept that. At least i'll have a low kay sportivo in a couple of years ;)

i remember when i used to go go-karting in the rain it was so easy to get one of those things to spin but you would not want that in a car
I used to go kart often also, once 3 mates and myself went out in heavy rain with slicks on, it was raining so heavily that once you got up to speed the rain felt like little rocks hitting your face. It was the only time i have been able to pull of a 720 spin down the straight at about 60km/h and keep going!!! that was in WA down Henderson/Kwinana way in 2001, fond memories.
BTW SPTIVO_LUVA, cool avatar...Aphex Twin makes my brain bubble :D

Hey s2ky_
I recently was looking into buying an MR2 SW20 and found out that....
~Bathurst models are all non-turbo. So if you find one with a turbo motor its a private job.
~GT is the turbo model. definately the one to go for. (if you have an open licence).
~Targa roofs are available on both
~hard tops are out there but are rarer. (hard tops have sleeker lines too)
~There are REV1, REV2, REV3 series. (eachs series up got more power, options, quality, last one has VVT-i I think?)
Ultimate version for me REV3 black hard top GT B)
-
I had one on my old ED Falcon <_<
it sounded chunky as all through the rev range. I found it to be louder then the open pod's too, I think the heat shield acted like a trumpet maybe??!!. I dont think they're washable (not sure).
I like them. :)
-
Hey Silva... you had better take your sportivo in to get checked out... a ~6200 revlimit isn't quite right ;)
Nah...he means he'll land in 2nd gear just above 6K rpm. :P
-
HAHAHHAHAAAA
Got me!

Very nice Zee!!
I just finished reading the last issue of Motor the 3 MPS got equal 4th with the WRX in the PCOTY rest of the world.
Kick ****!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
as i say guys looks like the corvette backside!
Not really. :P
The vette's lights are inline, the same size and a solid colour, also its a square end.
While the GTR's lights are on diff levels, are diff size and have blinkers in the middle, also its a rounded edge.
But...those are kick ar$e pics. unmistakable as a GTR, even if you didnt know what you're looking at.

Who cares about V8, F1 and WRC....
If there is a chance that this means that I can make my next car purchase from the Toyota showroom with a possibility of it being tuned up a little, bring it on......
I care because to some people Heritage means a lot. That's just me though.
Good call, Me too. :)

Yeah the 130 is the best looking (I love it, so different!) and the only hatch with rear drive and a straight six (again so different)...but it cost's somewhere around $70K thats serious money, same goes for the new Audi, its going to be even more expensive again. Executive types need only apply
Oh yeah and...the new 3MPS' performance is impressive but is really soft looking, it would suit my sister...
