  1. i see them both being referred to, what is correct
  2. What do they put down at the wheels? i was speaking to a celica owner (same engine) and his only put down 94 kw atw with a pod filter and full exhaust... either thats a **** load of loss or toyotas claimed figures are wrong.. (think 20v) , i say this is low because my stock as a rock 3sge mr2 puts down 90kw atw with factory exhaust and airfliter... but is rated almost 20kw at the fly less.. and it had some mods so it wasn't stock.. (141kw at engine) plus a few kw for exhaust and air filter..
  3. remind me not to park my car near yours!!
  4. i can agree to what grinder said, in straight line the gze was pretty much on par, on the corners they weren't to the same degree but hey you can't compare a mr car to a fwd car, the one i was behind suffered from bad body roll and almost ran up his ***** because he had to slam the breaks on through sharp corners (needs suspension upgrade)! on a road like the pac hwy handling is the key so of course my car has the advantage even over cars that are quickder in a straight line, my car sw20 mr2 non turbo 3sge has no problems keeping up with rexes through the twisties ie a road like pac hwy but on the straights they will kill me haha
  5. t-vis was also available in the 4age engine as well :)
  6. drifting a mr car is hard and requires a lot of skill, its harder to predict the handling as compared to fr as if you back of the accelerator it generally corrects it self pretty easy but can also suffer from snap oversteer if pushed to hard, ive never seen a mr car used for drift purposes for this reason, if any one has id be interested to see the info :)
  7. you tell me not to bag out sportivos and yet we get the same back, the 1.6 4age in the sx/gti made 100kw with no vvti and is over tens years older yet the standard corolla today makes the same amount of power and with vvti, is that old tech? nope its a smaller donk with no vvti and has a better torque curve and still makes the same power, illuminati yes i know but they are a design that have been out for many years and not new technology.
  8. guys im not dissing the corolla sportivo, they seem like a good car and all, all im saying that on paper it looks great ie figures but when it comes down to putting the power down it is just dissapointing, with power like that i would expect more ie 15s standard
  9. if their so tech advanced then why is a carby fed celica from the seventies only half a second slower?
  10. the sportivo makes good power but doesn't have the 1/4 mile time to back it up, the type r is roughly same power but would kill a tivo and down the quarter
  11. a carby celica is only half a second slower then a tivo lol thats gotta be a kick in the nuts! My mr2 3sge is about on par with a ae82 4agze and i have beaten tivos, the ae71 is light and rear wheel drive, not about power, more so traction :)
  12. pimpin i would rather that then a new tivo and have 30k in the bank!
  13. you can get a fully sick bro super cheap auto air filter for less then $50 lol
  14. ke70s can be made to fly, check out www.twincam.org, many members have ke70s, ae82s, ae86 sprimters, ae92s and so on... there is one guy with a turbo setup, and to all the sportivo boys i dont know why you would spend over 30k for a rolla when you could buy a 2001-2002 s15 200sx for the same price or 2001-2002 wrx my bro got his 2002 wrx with only 8000kms for 32,000, imho since after the ae92 they just got heavier and uglier, 141 kw and front wheel drive no thanks, unless its a type r which has even more power and handling abilities
