I have a 2006 manual and lately have been noticing what I think may be a whine from the drivetrain. It is most prominant betwen 65 and 75kph and occurs whether in gear or coasting. It appears to be coming from the front of the vehicle. It is also hard to select reverse and I need to place in 1st and move the car a fraction then reverse can be selected easily. The RAV has done 28000km and the warranty expired in approx 5 weeks. Can anyone share any thoughts on this... is this common with these models ?

Does anyone know the availability of the Separation Net shown on page 189 of the RAV4 manual. I've been unable to find any information.

I'm new to the forum having recently purchased a 2006 RAV4 Cruiser manual and was wondering if anyone has taken figures using 95RON v 91RON with the 2.4l engine. Does the extra efficiency offset the increased cost per litre ? I filled up yesterday and on the last tank got 11.2l/100km on 91RON 100% suburban / city driving. A recent tank was 8.9l/100km with approx 50% highway driving. Anyone have any stats for 95RON with the 2.4l manual ?
