  1. i found the new 2009 Avalon. it has a 3.5L V6 with 268hp (200kw) with a six speed automatic which i think is from the Aurion. it is also front wheel drive. not sure if it is only available in America. here it is - http://www.toyota.com/avalon/photo-gallery.html
  2. Maybe he just got the wording mixed up. He could have gotten the TRD springs, such as the ones they use in the US for their Gen 6 Camry's. I would imagine that those springs should be a direct fit to our Aurion due to the similarities. If you look at the following thread from Toyota Nation, the height seems to be matching with the ones you're referring to. The Aurion you posted probably looks lower because of the larger rims and due to the tire profile they fill the space that slightest bit more. My new Mod: TRD springs and Pictures of my 2007 Camry (Damn this is one clean Camry) With the second one, you can see the rear is sitting slightly higher than the front. I'm guessing that the TRD springs he got were done not too long prior to the photoshoot, since I have heard a few people on that thread say the TRD springs will sag quite a bit in the rear. the TRD AURION springs actually are from what i remember, they are 1 inch lower that the sportivo springs.
  3. that is one ugly car. the front looks like an off road version of the honda accord euro and the back looks like it is squashed. they also have a few truly putrid colours...lol
  4. i reckon if they made it RWD i would like it even more coz you can have more fun with it and i also think that if they made an AWD that would have been good too.
  5. Wouldn't feeling the bumps have heaps to do with the 19's and low profile tyres. If you want the bolevade ride maybe stick with 17's or even 16's :) yeah they do, but you only really feel the bumps if you have 15 profile tyres, but i reckon mine feel nearly like the 15 profiles but mine are 35's. i just dont get it.
  6. about the problem not being severe enough to spend money to fix it, i need it fixed because if i let go of the steering wheel it pulls hard and i will be in a gutter in 1 second, so i think it is pretty severe
  7. Well, sometimes the tyres have uneven wear / irregular wear on it - This is commonly seen as slanted ridges on the threads of the tyres and brought about by improper alignment, which can exacerbate the pulling issue. So, Which came first? The chicken or the Egg? Well as we speak, Fulcrum have my Aurion and are changing the front-rear control arm bushes with the offset type as mentioned in the thread: Wheel alignment specs Remember, I have had a Toyota wheel alignment before which has not corrected the issue, so I will post back with the results when I get it back this afternoon. I reckon that the pulling issue is caused by this (otherwise I wouldn't be spending money on this), and then any extra tire wear is the result of it, which then creates that snowball effect. about the wheel allignment, i have had it done twice by two seperate companies within 2-3 weeks of eachother and it improves the pulling issue a little but then after a couple of days it goes worse again
  8. Isn't the idea of having a Sportivo version to have the firmer suspension though... I have an ATX and am forever complaining about how spongy it feels... Just my two cents though yeah i know that it is supposed to be firmer but i was loking at buying the car i drove the at-x and the dealer said that the sportivo was not much bumpier but turns out it is.
  9. Haha...I disagree with several points above.. But again, just IMO 3. I'll leave the judgement of which is better to personal preference... But to me, I'd still prefer Aurion with the looks. 4. It's pretty much fun for me except for the rattles and the 'to the left' steer wheel. 5. It's comfy and lots of space. I'll get a bus for more space... 6. I agree it's a bit over-priced but that's the whole point. It's to create image of 'TRD' and distinguish them off the Non-TRD Aurion. For the price, Since there are other options besides the TRD, people lean forward more to the Non-TRD as the price gap is quite huge, while the difference is not that many. Supercharger, Wheels & Brakes, Body Kits. Basically, that's about it. Well.. That's pretty much what I consider b4 I bought my car. I assume pretty much people would think it that way.. Coz I'm Noob with Car.. I agree with some of your points, but I find Commodores and Falcons butt-ugly, especially Falcons with their bubble-like canopy. However, styling is highly subjective. I, for one, was sold on the TRD on the basis of looks. But I agree that the TRD was horrifying expensive when it was first launched. It's much more realistic now at $49,990. Of course, after March 31st you won't be able to get any of them no matter how much you pay. :( When I have people complaining about the lack of space on the inside, then this would be something to think of. I am yet to find someone who thinks this car isn't large enough. If I stuff it full of overweight people and it gets cramped, I highly doubt they are going to complain about space since that problem already has its answer. As for the external size, why would you want any larger? To make it harder to park? To make it more likely for the car next to you to open their door into yours? Seriously, I find the Aurion to be the right size on the outside. When it comes to that argument, these cars were built as a performance sedan for the street. In this situation, the only advantage a RWD is going to offer is the ability to put more power to the road with more traction. The hole power thing is there to satisfy the market. For their target market, these people feel comfortable that they bought a car that actually has some power to it. Once they get it, they drive it as they would any other car. The extra performance is there to make them feel good. Sure it is more difficult to drive when pushing it, but that's what will distinguish you between a hoon, and someone that knows how to control a FWD with all that power. Sure the new Commodores look quite nice with the flared guards and aggressive stance but seriously, how many times do you see them on the road. It's just another Holden. The TRD (even the other Aurions) have a unique style to them that I reckon looks better than most passenger cars. As for the Falcon, I don't see any good style in them. They all look the same. Depends how you define fun. I find it more fun driving the Aurion as you feel like you are controlling the car more than say a Commodore. Yet to find that an issue. Packed with 5 average people, I have had no complaints. Also read the end of the first paragraph of point 1. Yeah it is a little expensive, but I guess it is what helps separate the market. Sure it may not be made to directly compete with Holden and Ford, but I think the move was more to give an alternative. i guess everyone has different opinions about things but that is my opinion anyway.
  10. when i was in melbourne, i stared the car in the morning and put it in reverse to go out of the garage and it made a loud clunk noise. it has done 37,000km's. it was the first time it has happened. i think it might have been becasue the engine was just started and i tried to drive it straight away. has anyone had this problem before?. does anyone know what it is?
  11. i knew the aurion would not be able to cope with the competitipon of Holden and Ford from the start. there are many things that can adress this eg) 1. it is smaller than Commodores and Falcons 2. it is front wheel drive 3. doesnt look as good a the new Commodores and Falcons 4. it might have more power than Commodores and Falcons but it is not as fun 5. it is not as comfortable with 5 people in the car 6. and finally its price - my ZR6 when i bought it 1 year and a half ago was $47,000 witrh sat nav and sunroof i guess the only thing you get from an aurion is for the price you do get more luxuries than Commodores and Falcons. that is my opinion anyway.
  12. i live in sydney and i just came back from melbourne and i am never going on a 8 to 9 hour trip in the aurion ever again. the springs are sooo bumpy and the scraping over millions of speedhumps in melbourne streets, even here, i hate it but i got to put up with it
  13. about the steering to the left issue, i took my aurion to a bridgestone shop in melbourne when i was there and the guy said that it pulls to the left baceuse of something to do with my tires and the grooves or something. i dont really understand what he was talking about but i thought i would try to explain the best i can. sorry.
  14. i have 19's and 35 profile tyres on my ZR6 and i have King Springs and i HATE IT. it is even more bumpier than the stock aurion springs. i can feel every little bump
  15. nice pic but its a bit small, couldnt really tell how low it sits. does it have the same stance as dannywss's? hows the ride? is it reasonably stiff? if u cant upload one cos it too big go to www.tinypic.com upload it onto there and it will give u a url that you can put into your post that will alow you to show it cheers mate...love to see a pic :D (still cant deside between kings and pedders, hope yours will make up my mind for me haha) ye its about the same but i think the back is a bit lower http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=315ydna&s=4 http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2qn2l37&s=4 never doe these links b4 but if they dont work maybe u can look at my gallery yeh man worked good...sits nice mate, even both front and back. wats it ride like? i reckon that the ride is a little bit less bouncy than the original sportivo ride. my tyres are 235/35/19 Aicheles and i think baceuse they are wider there is a bit more grip around corners
  16. has anyone found any chrome extras to fit an australian 2007 aurion that are not that expensive????
  17. interesting, any 1 know how much it costs to get it done in sydney?????
