Hi all, just bought a 86 Corolla to use as my daily driver, abotu to get it blue slipped but am having dramas with the tail lights. Question is, are all 4 globes supposed to be Stop/Tail lights? or are only the inside red lenses supposed to be the brake lights and the outsides stop/tail lights?

Lube mobile just came, distributor is rat****. They have taken it to see which parts need replacing as you cannot get themnew anymore :(

I tried to clutch it down the hill today, with negative results, so its now parked down the end of my street, at least i know it wont get flogged ! Yeah in a couple of the tubes there appeared to be a bit of wetness, i tried using my garden blower to blo what i could out. Its funny cause after i washed it it started for about 10 seconds then died in the *****, and yeah, now wont start. Im gonna get nrma to come out, but not today as they wanted $300, if its within the first 48 hours of joining.

Wioll spraying some WD40 down the plug tubes help?

Need urgent help, i degreased it today, now it wont start, and ive flattened the battery tryign to start it. Can i clutch start it or would the components being wet prevent this even?

ok next question, does anyone have a set of cheap wheels layign aroudn i can buy ? need somethign with better tyres than what ive got to pass rego.........

it must be on a second engine cause the badge on the back says twin cam, and im presuming thats for EFI

im gonna get it checked out by the mechanics, and if its too much to fix ill scrap it or sell it ! Hey mine has central locking though lol.

im pretty sure its not teh alternator as i listened to it when the car was running,............so its got me stuffed........

where is the resivour? down with the pump?

I just bought a little old camry to bash about as my daily driver, but the steering is soooooooo heavy, its like worse than non power steering cars, and it makes a whining metallic type noise when the engines running, and the noise revs the same as the engine. Did thesse cars all have power steering? if so where is the pump as the belt i can see only runs the air con and the alternator? What else does anyone think this whining sound could be?

I got an old 2R engine, not sure if its running (minuse the carby and manifold) with a 4 speed box attached if you want it ? chriswt@optusnet.com.au

Does anyone know of any vintage clubs in Sydney? I am looking at obtaining classic/historical rego for my old corona, and havent been able to find any toyota specific clubs. Can you join any classic club or does it have to be one that is for your make of car? I figure why pay $600-800 a year for something that gets driven once a month, and for the odd test drive whilst im restoring it. I know there are restrictions on historic vehicle rego but that is fine.

ok i got a 2278P and it doesnt seem right, its the same length as the one thats in it but slightly wider, and the rubber rings that sat on and below the old one, dont exsist on the 2278P, instead it has a rubber bung in the holes at both ends and with these bungs in the bolt doesnt fit through it ? any ideas? Pics attached. 2278P i just purchased is the one on the right (clean sorta lol)

although the car is a 1967 model, yes it is definatley a 12R engine, the originally engine was replced some years ago, maybe its best if i pull it out and check and post some photos now that i know that it is a canister type?

Can anyone tell me how/where is the engine oil filter on a 12R engine ? i was told by repco its a cartridge rather than a normal filter? but thier computer only went back to 1970.......

Ok my mistake, just checked the engine plate, its 2R engine, im fully aware of the having to fit clutch and such through the floor/firewall. I jsut can only seem to find limited info on the net re gearboxs. There is nothing to do with transmission types on any of the plates i could find in the engine bay. Currently its a 2 Speed Autoglide, gear shift is on the tree.

didnt think they came in a 5 speed? only 3 and 4 manual i presumed?
