  1. 5345 klm AWD in this weather going great. Feels safe as a house Cheers
  2. Sorry I have not posted a picture as yet . I will try and round to it. Both myself and the other driver have not experienced any whistling so I don't know what you/they mean ! Both of us have travelled back and forwards to Brisbane quite a few times ( over 2500 klm of my 3100klm) and obviously highway driveing 100klm/hr plus and not experienced any probs. My passengers have commented how quite the car is , so I don't know what else to say. Cheers Gary
  3. We have two KX-R's both with racks and no indication of a rattle, whistle etc. Cheers Gary
  4. Yeh, Don't know about the 70's look ? I for one don't look at it that way, basically just trying to protect the car. I am using bar towels at the moment, and whilst they look pretty good ! IMHO. I will probably get a dashmat at some point. As mentoned GArry I have seen the older cars with split dashes and they just look like crap. That is why I have always tried to protect it. Anyway I would like to hear more on this. Cheers
  5. Interesting point mikeyboy. I was looking at the dash today and it looked a bit dry. I wondered if you could Armorall the dash ? Has anyone else tried it ? I am always concerned about protecting the dash as it spends all of its time in the sun( depending of course if it is garaged), I have nearly always had dashmats on my other cars except for the last commodore which I always kept armoralled up ! Cheers Gary
  6. Yes , if you hold it about halfway in , it fills up no worries. If you put it all the way in it cuts out. I suppose you get used to it. Cheers Gary

  12. Hi all, I am look to fit an aftermarket stereo into my KX-R From my initial research I beleive toyota uses a double din size to fit in, which is ok. My question/s are 1 Do you have to buy an adapter kit for the fascia / dash so as to match it upwith the rest of the car ? and if so where do you get them from ? 2 Do the aftermarket stereo systems have the ability to use the steering wheel controls ? I am wanting a stereo with blutooth capabilty, but am also interested in dvd/gps functions THanks in advance Cheers Gary
  13. We have just ordered two KX-R's for work. One is a 2 WD and one the AWD. I do and will be doing a far bit of driving on the roads of south western Queensland, so I went for the AWD, the other vehicle will be used generally on sealed roads around SE Queensland. We took the 2WD version for a test drive around town, and on the open road and I really did feel the typical pull of the front wheel drive. Having experienced this before in a smaller underpowered Nubira it bought back bad memories. For me on the Western roads and for the extra safety in the wet for the family it had to be AWD. Also I was wondering if anyone has installed a aftermarket stereo , and if so what model, brand ? Also do you have to buy any extra parts etc for the changeover, ( apart from wiring changes). Cheers Gary
