Minor servicing my 3 yrs old Aurion car the dealer at south**** quoted me ~$600 is a rip off. I did the same maintenance at the local workshop ~$250. and they performed the job as outlined in the handbook. Now, tell me about it.

Hi, I wonder if anyone got their hand on a spare aurion console upper plate (fascia plate)? I rang up toyota and they quote me $66.85 (incl. gst) for a piece of plastic. Tried ebay, no luck. Basically I just install a small media player that takes USB / SD card and plays movie / songs to my entertainment head unit. And I don't want to cut my existing plate instead i would like to get a spare one and cut it from there and screw the small media player on it. Any idea where I can get those plate? Thank you .. :-)

$400 was same price I had to pay when my Levin ZR's foglight was smashed too. Apparently they're the same/similar fittings. the price just unacceptable.

The thing is , why this ONLY happen to TOYOTA?... I never had a problem with other brand of cars, such as Suzuki. I remember I had the same issue with ECHO, but the issue went away after years driving it. If it's the bacteria, it doesn't make sense, as the bacteria should be accumulated itself. I remember DJKor mentioned something about the aircon, but I can't remember where I read it from...

Sent my car for the first 12 months service. I broke one of the RHS fog light when travelling on high way the other day, and the light glass is gone, but the bulb still works . I asked Toyota the cost to replace one, and the quotation I got back is , A$400 for a light. Does that sound too much for you guys? 2) Whenever I accelerate my Aurion SX6 the first time after ignite the car, there always be a strong smell comes after that (it's not the break/belt burns smell) . I pretty sure it's not the aircon, because I can smell that 'things' with my aircon is OFF and the air 'circulated' is selected. I mentioned this issue to the service guy when 1000km initial service, I have been told it's my new carpet smell (fxxk off... i knew what a new carpet smell like, and that's just not that smell). And this time, I have been told different story, where the aircon filter underneath is full of bacteria, and it's gonna cost me A$98 to do something with it, and (can't be assure that will work)... Has anyone of having this experience?

beaware though, all your steering wheel button may becomes toy if you change the head unit.. :-) try northfield car, if you have spare money.. they offer very good job...

have anyone installed aftermarket remote starter for aurion ?... any cons or pro? price? .

yup~ we just being sooo clever not to read through the manual... lol~ however... the ONLY thing i dun quite like with the unit is.... it doesn't support unicode -utf-8 in the mp3/wma tag(id tag v 1.1 only , not 2.0 yet!! ), which means it can't display east-asian language in the title. emailed eclipse support... they doesn't seem here to help either... wtf... how am i suppose to choose a song among 8000 east-asian songs in my ipod with this unit... they all display a BLANK title on the screen! sighs~... eclipse is a nice product, however the technology is FAIRLY OLD!!... it definately can't satisfy a user like me who like to customise stuff... :-)

Fitting an extra head unit down there in addition to what is already in the car seems pointless. Plus, it was found that mounting a head unit there is too fiddly for most people. well, i guess the only option i have got is to get one of these AVC-6901 InCar DVD/GPS (Sat Nav) entertainment systems unit from auspack. It should be no problem fitting that unit to Aurion SX6 08 model, right?... (all wheel buttons work.. etc)... if that's the case, i might just get it from auspack. djkor, any other bad comment about the unit besides the note you posted in other forum?

I hate to say it, but this option is going to involve a lot of waiting. I don't think there are many people out there that can be bothered to work that stuff out. If people were that concerned about figuring stuff out for the Aurion, we would have more performance parts first. what about fitting in an extra single DIN hu right underneath the A/C control?... the spaces seems promising... have any one tried to fit into that slot? i remember i read something about the 'depth' of that space somewhere ... hmm....

I don't think anyone here has tried the CAT10 approach... or they haven't been kind enough to speak of their experience. So far I can only recall JIN getting his steering wheel buttons to work with an aftermarket unit but that was done with the hack method with the old head unit. Because of that, we can't really guarantee that the CAT10 will solve the DISP button issue. We have tried to understand it, but without analysing the original PCB, it is hard to determine just how that DISP button works. I did some research (just measurements) over here. This was quite a lengthy discussion from the thread 'Steering Wheel buttons'. I suggest you look through there. As it stands, it's like a stab in the dark. The only way to find out really is to try it. I sure couldn't figure it out. yup~ i went through those forum, however there is no solid solution still. hmm... i think i might have to hold the decision of getting a new HU until someone has actually work out the solution (not the hacking way :-)). the reason i would like to change the hu is to put an subw amp with it. as far as i know, there is no pre-amp output(RCA) from factory hu so the only way to get the amp to work is to use the rear speakers output as source to the amp. (the amp supports the speakers output as source). has anyone tried the sound quality? is it really bad?

I bought that headunit, it was fanastic but the only down fall is that the steering wheel buttons didn't work with it which made me refund it in the end since i didn't want to get the CAT10 installed with it which would cost another 210-299$ depending where you buy it, just don't trust the infra red for it. I'd prefer something more like the avic-6901 because of its compatiablity with the steering wheel buttons. I am thinking to get AVIC-F900BT on my Aurion SX6 08 model. however, i am a bit concern with the steering wheel DISP button not working properly. I have read through the forum, and it doesn't seem like there is a solution to make the DISP works with aftermarket HU (besides the AUSPACK, or hiding the factory HU somewhere in the car with DISP wiring connected). Have anyone here successfully made the DISP works ? Or, would CAT10 rectify the issue? (I thought CAT10 only controls the volume, tracks... but not the DISP)... any help is appreciated...
