  1. Hi Further to the above post, I set out to find out exactly which small Japanese car has the best fuel consumption. Limiting my results to 1.5 litres and auto. Using the Green vehicles guide website, I got the following results. I believe they are accurate as I get a very similar figure in my yaris for the Urban figure. Also the car makers would sue if they were wrong and wouldn't quote the figures in their glossy brochures. [*]Mazda 2 1.5l Auto Combined 6.8 Urban 8.9 Extra Urban 5.6 [*]Toyota Yaris 1.5l Auto Combined 6.7 Urban 8.7 Extra Urban 5.7 [*]Honda Jazz 1.5l Auto Combined 6.7 Urban 8.8 Extra Urban 5.5 As you can see there is not much difference (its almost like they are made in the same factory, just with different badges plonked on the engine.) It really does boil down to price and personal preferences, certainly not fuel consumption! Unless of course one or two tenths of a decimal point mean a lot to you. Interestingly according to the website, the Jazz has 5 forward gears, but it doesnt seem to make that much of a difference. Cheers
  2. Hi FYI: I get 8.62 L/100km using 91 unleaded, 95% City driving in my 09 1.5 Yaris Auto. This compares with the "green vehicles guide" figure of 8.7 L/100km. I have to drive like a granny to get these figures btw :P Cheers Mark
  3. Hi everyone (great forum btw) FYI: Toyota Yaris (all models) do not come standard with Aircon filter (cabin air filter). You have to get it added, if you want it. Costs approx $100 (total rip-off) - Toyota does warn you that it is an optional extra on their website, so you cant plead ignorance! http://www.toyota.com.au/parts-and-service...bin-air-filters However you can buy them on ebay (just type in "yaris air cabin filter") , for about 1/3 of the price and its easy to install. After installing for 2 days I removed it to spray in some Glen 20. The crap that was already trapped in it was scary, considering I had been driving for 3 years previously without it (hence the glen 20 treatment) . A huge twig was even present...where the pollutants went before I installed the filter is anyone's guess? Toyota obviously believes Yaris drivers are made of sterner stuff (or poorer) and dont require silly things like air filters. Cheers Mark
