I'm going to paint my grille tomorrow basically because i want to paint something on my car again as i enjoyed it last time (painted door pillars black as they had faded). I was just wondering if anybody had any thoughts on what i should paint... i'm thinking of painting the main horizontal bits with matte black paint, then a clear coat. at the moment it's stock, (dark grey) and nothing else on the car seems to be grey anyways. what i'm unsure of is if i should paint the chrome border or leave it, and if i should paint the toyota badge black as well for a moddish look or leave it chrome. i think i might like that look on the badge but people might just think i forgot to mask it lol. my car is navy blue btw. thoughts? here's a pic of the grille as is. sorry for the darkness.

i can't remember exactly which fuse visually, but in my 98 camry my mirrors don't work when i blow my cigarette lighter fuse. i'm not sure if this is the only fuse they're on though or if they're on multiple fuses. sorry about the lack of detail but i hope it helps somewhat

yep those are the ones. i'm glad they're not a nobody brand, now i feel a bit better about them! thanks for the info! i think i'd prefer to deal with the manufacturer for warranty because i'd probably trust them more than some ebayer.

ohh i see. i thought it was a really rare occurrence or something haha. but yeah i know nothing yeah i'm now considering finding another place to get serviced! it's not like i have a warranty or anything with toyota anyways. excel-g shocks are sounding good right now at that price hahaha. i don't really mind extra NVH because i'd do anything to decrease the bounciness of my car. all i know is i need to start saving right now. has anyone had any experience with ebay shocks? should i just steer clear?

Hey guys, i just got my whiteline rear sway bar installed today! i drove to the nearest winding road and it's a pretty decent improvement. can enter corners way faster and keep up speeds during longer corners. but i also got some really bad news from pedders which i'm going to get a second opinion on. they checked out my suspension and everything and told me: - i need all 4 shocks replaced, the front left is leaking and that they are the ORIGINAL factory shocks (my car has done 289,000ks) - about $270 each - rear bushes split, front bushes soft, excessive movement - $194 and $316 - leaking steering rack - $780 (i already knew about this though) - lower trailing arm bushes badly worn - $198 parts and labour all up: $2695. i don't even know if it's worth it based on my car's value. i guess the sway bar would be way better if i had shocks that actually worked. it's insane to think that my car has never had its shocks replaced. i'm pretty annoyed that the toyota dealer i get my car serviced with EVERY 10,000ks has never picked up on this stuff (but they did notice the steering rack). but yeah anyways the sway bar is definitely worth it haha.

sorry i meant engine clearance wise. because i've noticed some bars say they're only for 4 cyl models.

whoa they've got the ultra racing strut bars pretty cheap. doesn't say if it fits the v6 or 4cyl though. or does the ultra racing one fit both?

oh cool i'll keep that site in mind. the wheels im looking at are only an hourish away from me. but a lot of camry stuff seems to be reeeeally far away so it'll probs come in handy

yeah i'd love a cold air intake. my car is too... camry-like haha. the only thing holding me back from mods is money. i love those stock rims on your camry, looks stealthy. i've got very dated vienta alloys which i'm not a fan of at all. Haha you like my steelies? You can have them once I get my new rims haha...I hate them It does look good at night though, kinda looks like I'm floating yeah i dunno i just like them haha. i really don't know why. the postage would be a killer from sydney i think! i've got my eye on a suspiciously cheap set of 18" rims on ebay at the moment. still tossing up whether to make a bid or not You want to post up the link? Hey Rad, Just looking at your Avatar there. That is a REALLY nice choice for an exhaust tip...thats exactly what I was planning to get. Mind giving us some details on what you have done to your ride? Oh an definetly keep us posted on the strut bar aswell... oh thanks! it came with the car so i can't take credit for it though lol. it sounds pretty good. i got the car almost 3 years ago exactly. the exhaust is the only modification on the car besides stereo at the moment. i've just decided recently to slowly start modifying just a few things. not really sure what else i'll do. i'm very jealous of your gtp kit. you're one lucky dude. is your car lowered? oh and yes i will definitely keep you posted on the sway bar!

hmmm yeah i don't think i'll risk it. i'm too broke to be taking risks lol. i'll probs end up getting some cheapo one if i can. i keep seeing pictures of strut braces fitted to v6s but no idea where they're from. i think Vijith holds the key seeing as he has one on his v6...

i got a front strut brace off ebay..not a whilteline one but i cant believe the handling improvement i got just with the front end..now onto getting a rear sway bar soon to complete it :) the strut brace and the nasty looking weapon R custom air intake on the right ;) i've been looking around on ebay after reading this thread. you've made me want a strut bar for my camry! i've got a whiteline rear sway bar on order already at the moment too. trying to get rid of the boatish handling lol. i can't seem to find any strut bars on ebay that will fit the v6 though. a lot of them say they only fit the 4cyl models. could you maybe point me in the right direction? and also how was installing it? did you need to make any new holes or anything or was it just bolt on?

a while back on my 1998 vienta the interior light would come on during some cornering and it confused me for ages, then one night my alarm went off during the middle of the night as the car thought a door was open. i figured the door wasn't making proper contact with the switch, so i bought some of those sticky furniture rubber stoppers to stop chair legs etc scraping the floor. I stuck one on the door where it makes contact with the switch, and about 2 years later it's never happened again and the same stopper is still stuck there and hasn't fallen off yet! no idea if this is your problem but it might help you or someone else haha.

I'm taking a gamble here and assuming this topic has never been done. what are your favourite driving songs? for cruising and for aggressive driving? also good 'sunny day, windows down' songs. just a few examples: cruising: heading out to the highway - judas priest aggressive: prisoner of society - the living end sunny day: anything by less than jake anyone know any good ones?

hey guys, i just came across this topic. bit late, i know. would there be much of a difference between a 20mm and a 24mm rear sway bar for this type of camry? they're the same price on the whiteline site. just wouldn't know which one would be better. did you end up getting one installed, addy? if so, what's it like?

Hey i'm 19 from Melbourne and i drive a 98 vienta v6 auto. It's stock except for an exhaust tip which is just for sound! I know pretty much nothing about cars but i love reading about them :D
