    supercharger

Does anyone know if its possible to fit the supercharger from the TRD aurion onto the Kluger or can i get an aftermarket one. I want to upgrade the motor to get more power.
  2. The interior buttons should iluminate such as the windows mirrors etc
  3. ouch $670 in brisbane metro with NRMA, over 30's drivers only, garaged, full no claims bonus. 08 KXS AWD it was actually the same insurance cost for a commodore wagon SS-V which is crazy as thats a V8. I drove the kluger first then went for a drive in the SS-V. Difference in overall quality was noticeable straight away. Pity the Kluger doesnt come in a V8 though. I would of bought the territory if they had a V8 version.....
  4. Ok then it must be supposed to then! great car to drive!
  5. Has anyone experienced a wobbly brake pedal? My 08 KXS with 9K on clock has a brake pedal where if you rest your foot on it you can move it side to side slightly. I'm only talking maybe a couple of mm's thats all. Anybody else's kluger do this? and dust storms on a merlot kluger are a pain

    Raising Kluger

I was considering raising my kluger about 3" to increase the ground clearance for off road use. Does anyone see any problems with this and what would be the best way
  7. my 08 KXS AWD does exactly the same thing. So you have to drive as if its a manual. When on a hill stick the park brake on and release at the same time as accelerating. Or press the brake hard until it beeps and the hill start activates then just rest your foot on the brake. When your ready to go just press the accelerator and it will hold the car while you move your foot from the brake to the accelerator. Alternatively clamp a cycle rack to your towbar so that when the car behind decides to sit 2" from your bumber you can roll back and spear him through their windscreen.
  8. I do not know in this specific case, I tune 100's of rotaries in my time and while there are gains to be had its probably more true than not the reason why the injection/ign map is set is for reliable operation. The stock ECU is very smart, adjusts to different fuel types and alters the power (ign timing to match) probably tweaks the fuel too, but the times I have check it the fuel curve seems the same regardless of octane, though it does vary with what gear you are in. Moral is someone needs to do 100+ Klugers and have a bank of reliable running cars (for hundreds of thousands of kilometers) before I myself would let mine be retuned or chipped etc < you need to verify long term effects. Chasing a fwhp or dyno glory has its short comings, not sure I would bother with my daily driver :) I am happy with the speed and all round package of my car out on the highway not much can match it :D :o Has anyone considered fitting the supercharger from the TRD Aurion to the engine - if so what probs would this cause
  9. If the choice was between AWD KX-R and 2WD Altitude, the Altitude would win hands down. I'd much prefer the additional 'fruit' over AWD. Roof rails, 19" wheels and fog lights look so much better than the bare bones KX-R. Add a moonroof and DVD for the kids, easy choice Here is my view! I recently upgraded from a Falcon to KX-S AWD. Falcon was useless in the wet and sometimes frightening around corners. I had it sideways on more than a few occassions. I needed a family car and was torn between the VE wagon and SUV. VE wagon has teh same RWD characteristics and (in my view) average build quality. That left me the territory/Kluger. My only experience in a territory was being asked to move one that was parked nose down on a not too steep or wet grassy bank. In reverse the car did nothing as the TC was on. Switched off the rear tyres just span. I ended up rocking back and forth to get the car side ways so i could drive sideways along the slope. Then only last weekend my in-laws Nissan Pathfinder was parked on my front lawn (similar slope) and refused to budge only being reversed off unless the 4WD was selected. My falcon has been parked in similar situations and has driven out no problem. My conclusion in all this is that the SUV is a big lump of a vehicle and needs an AWD system to grip properly. The AWD in the Kluger works very well in all conditions and allows for confident driving. For the $4K difference it is definetly worth the money. It might do 1 or 2 L/100km but when you work the cost out its minimal - based on 20000kms per year works out at 200 - 400 extra lires a year so $500 max. Probably worth noting that the Aurion with the same 270bhp motor has loads of torque steer and spin in the dry (I never got to try it in the wet). Also Lexus Rx350 (same motor) do not offer a 2WD version. End of the day its upto you but just dont park on grass!!!!
  10. I used to live locally near to the huge toyota factory in Burnaston (UK) producing Camry's and know plenty of people who have/still do work there, i have even had the opportunity to see the factory assembly floor. All the standards that are maintained in Japan are painstakingly re-introduced into the assembly line including the japanese work ethic so i would presume the same would apply in Aus. And yes the factory has got lay offs and a stock pile of unwanted cars, you think the recession/financial polititian made crisis is bad here you should visit the UK. They have been officially in recession for the last six months with major banks closing etc. With any major Jap motor manufacturer (I visited Nissan as well) there standards are impeccable and this is transferred into the build quality of the car.

    Kluger Price

Just took delivery of KX-s AWD 03/08 (brand new - exactly 100kms on clock) - Merlot Red last thursday. No extras only mats - $49500 drive away with full tank of fuel and the $150 service cap. 03/08 build was a pain as a little older than i wanted but that was all that was left in 08 for that colour and 09 would of been an extra $5K - or so the dealer assured me. But it was brand new and not a demo so happy with the price and awesome car. Shopped around a few dealers and it was between 2 with $500 in it the other 2 i found were quoting $53K. They were advertising $49995 drive away for 08 KXS 2WD in the sunday paper and thats withought a bit of decent haggling - I reckon they would accept $47-48K Just waiting for the 1000kms to come up so i can stop driving like an old lady.
