  1. bladehunter have you tried to find the keyring watch at weekend market stalls? perhaps autobarn have them? i saw "replica" rolex watches for $120 each at autobarn!

i am not interested in the toyota keyring watch. but if i was i would only purchase one piece first and after my first-hand assessment of the goods and the service of the seller would i decide to purchase any more pieces. i do not think that item is genuine and it looks low grade.

  2. it seems popular in usa to replace the stock antenna with a short antenna like on honda s2000. some people feel the stock antenna makes the car look like a remote control car!

i have not seen any current model corollas in australia with this change. next month i might also list short antennas, it will be interesting to see if these take off.

  3. the engine cover is a cosmetic cover and you can take it off. if you are still worried you should contact your toyota dealer. a lot of questions asked here could be easily answered by a quick phone call to any toyota dealer in australia. save time and receive answers from the people who are trained.

warranty parts (mechanical) are marked with dots of paint typically yellow colour.

so the dye works like a traditional wood stainer. do you know what the finish is like? is it strong and vivid?

whenever you want parts spray painted it is most economical (time, quality, cost) to carry out the work once. this means you leave your car only once for service and this also means the same batch of paint will be used for all your parts.

very often you need to book many many weeks in advance with reliable and popular panel beaters as they have too much work on.

  4. yes the sportivo sports grill looks racey. unfortunately this part would gain the attention of a thief and it is so easy to push in the mesh which gives a big entry to attack your car.

some people have changed their horns to hilux horns and there are aftermarket horns in different colour which are easier to see through a sports grill.

  5. e-gene sorry! i have a brand new sportivo sports grill in box purchased from brighton toyota over 6 months ago and now having second thoughts on keeping it. i now like the look of stock from ascent to levin to sportivo!

did you leave a deposit with mct? i have never had to leave a deposit with any toyota dealer. if no deposit then you do not need to go back there and the dealer can keep the item in stock.

  6. i find spray paint from car product shops like supercheap auto and autobarn generally thin, cheap and spray uneven. thin paint is bad because you need to put on more coats. if you are not careful and rush then drips are more likely to happen.

for the best spray paint in melbourne with competitive prices go to shop 29, swan street in richmond (right at richmond train station). this shop just opened!

they have in stock many colours and this spray paint is imported from germany! ask the staff for special nozzles, never use stock nozzles!

i think you remove the engine cover by the screws/bolts on the top. good luck!

  7. e-gene do you want your car booked in for this saturday? please let me know by tomorrow so we can take delivery of the springs in time. have you decided on the drop you want? we might be lowering a lancer this saturday too.

wheel shopping found a few new wheels coming out very soon but i did not like them. i still like g.max 126 a lot. good choice!

  8. i had the rear skirt and grill fitted when i purchased the car and i had the same problem, melted the inner edge of the skirt and had to get the exhaust tip extended and fitted at an angle to avoid pumping hot air into the skirt.

i would be uneasy if i found out the dealer had fitted the body kit parts. i think body kit parts should be fitted by panel beaters. i know it is not a hard job to do but i would like professionals to do the job.

when i picked up my car from the dealer brand new the floor mats were not fitted correctly. i had an airconditioner installed and they did not reinstall my headlamps correctly. from this point my experience with this dealer has gone from negative to negative to negative.

  9. I will call them on monday and find out, man i have to said this toyota dealer is pretty dodgy, dodgy sales and services,  if it wasn't close to my place i wouldn't take it there.

Freakin Western TOYOTA Sydney,  have to put this in so we all now know!!

i have experienced very very poor service from dealerships in melbourne. for warranty service you need a dealership so i shopped around and i have now found an outstanding dealership who are professional, highly trained and very friendly. even though they are the largest dealership in our country they give personal service. i drive a very long way to get to this dealership but i am very happy with their service. i hope you find a positive dealership to look after you.

  10. but i managed to see it just before i passed it and slowed down to escape the nasty flash.

i do not think they use flash now as this is old. if you see the flash lamp a metre or two in front of the parked car it is probably a dummy as there is no one sitting in the car.
