  1. this is terrible service but most businesses behave this way. they will not take action until you make a lot of noise.

a fault with the steering wheel is alarming. trd141 you can help others who might have a faulty steering wheel.

when you are at the dealer please try to find out as much as you can about the fault/recall. is it an official recall from toyota australia? how long has this fault been known? what is needed to fix the fault?

if the person who is helping you cannot answer these questions please go to the manager for help. the information you gather can be taken to road authorities to follow up.

please get things in writing. if the dealer finds no fault with your steering wheel please ask for an invoice for evidence.

  2. dakota when i said computer i was talking about the car's computer. i know it records electronic faults but a few people have thought it could record and store a history of speeds and rev peaks.

i understand there is a national database. i also understand that access to it in the past was fairly easy but now toyota has greatly restricted access by employees.

but who performance modifies their car and has it serviced with the dealer? under warranty or not!

  3. MAS is on this weekend at melbourne exhibition and convention centre (mecc).

members of this forum and their friends (any cars) are meeting on saturday 3rd of april at 4 pm. the location to meet is 2 minutes away from mecc with good parking. please private message me for the location, i do not want it made public.

arrive at 4 pm for 4:30 departure to mecc (and new parking) and entry into MAS.

i could not find a program for MAS but saturday late afternoon should suit most people. after MAS some people might go for a car cruise.

  4. easy to install???

    is it really worth it

only really doing it to have a guage in the car :P  :D

i am selling tachos and gauges. i have boost, vacuum and oil temp. boost comes in black carbon finish face. 7 neon colours at night. professional installation too.

do you also want a bov without turbo? bov sounds cool right? you can set it off by pressing a button.

  5. this happens a lot. dealers (not just car industry) seem to ignore customers and if they do help typically give quick fixes that only delays the problem from shutting down your item.

exec6speed story reminds me of when my friend who had a problem with his apple computer. it was not until his computer fried did apple listen and take proper action.

exec6speed did you keep a record of the times you went to a toyota dealer for the problem? i hope you have received some things in writing. i always ask for an invoice.

do you have cai? i understand this will void your engine warranty.

  6. you can make attacks to your car harder for free. on current corollas keyless entry is standard. you could disable the key hole on the driver's side. most attacks are on the driver's door. you could also remove the handle (the T shaped part) that opens your hood. hide the cable and when you need to open your hood you will know to find the cable. but if you have the sportivo sports grill it is very easy to open the hood by pushing out the grill mesh and finding the hood lock. there is more things you could do to protect your car for free.

  7. i know levin (zze engine) comes with colour coded mud flaps. on this car the only mud flaps are the rear pair because it has side skirts therefore no space for front pair.

a question for the stivo owners. did your car come with colour coded mud flaps or did you pick up the car with plain plastic mud flaps?

  8. im not too fussed about an alarm but what i really want is a auto starter, so i dont have to wait in the morning for her to warm up. u can get alarms with it built in that also put all ur windows up when u lock the car so ill prob get that..

i had remote engine start on a honda but now have disabled it. only used it for the first few months. i am sure you know timers are illegal for street use.

  9. Any cruises or hangouts in Melbourne Lately?  Let me know, I'll bring some stivo's along (2) and a SS.

a few melbourne teams have been organising mid week cruises at night (night time and less traffic without going regional). there was one tonight.

i think some of us here will get together for melbourne auto salon just over a week away. good chance to meet others and have a line up of corollas!
