You seem to have cut Omn1potent out of the list guys.

    For shame... :P

Name added. I've been waiting for something like this for a while.

I'm interested in the front strut brace as well if that goes ahead.

  2. hi spordeano'

Wat is your fuel consumption during normal driving in the city. My car's computer recently started to display 26-27L/100km but i think its wrong. Im driving from sydney to melbourne soon, and with cruise control on, i hope i can get there in less than one tank. Wat do u guys reckon is best tyre pressure for highway speeds.?

I would start by looking at the type pressure sticker found on the driver's side door frame and go up from there.

  3. Have you disconnected the battery to rest the ECU?

So even the Camry has a 'learning' ECU and I've heard that the ECU for the auto trans is also a 'learning' one. Is that right?

I think I read in the Corolla forum that after you reset the ECU, drive it a little on the hard side to 're-train' it. Should this be done?

  4. Ouch!!!

Sorry to hear and see the pics... as long as your OK though then that's good.

From the photos, it looks like your left side-skirt is untouched as well as the front and rear quarter panels, but they will paint the whole passenger side anyway just to blend the colours.

Does NRMA offer a car hire option with their insurance? Did you add this option to your policy?

As for replacing the car..., it's hard to say as you're going to be hit with a double-whammy of depreciation if the 2006 Camry is what you want to buy.

  5. sooooo......the final decision is????? is there a meet up or??????

this is the westside meet.....is there a southeast side meet?  :D

i hail from Caulfield side.....would be good to catch with some of your guys.

prolly gonna have a mod session on my car this Saturday at a motorsports shop in Box Hill. Am installing a modular CAI for my babey, ze Stivo sports pedals and X3-white high beam bulbs) .  B)

    YIPPEE!! can't wait

Motorsports shop in Box Hill????? Where, which one.

  6. VIC

Dark Blue (Pacific Blue???) Pre-facelifted Corolla sedan with thin, white, 5-spoke rims, silver TOM'S logo on top-center rear windscreen and side mouldings have been removed for a clean, Accord Euro-ish look.

Saw this one whilst picking up my car from Graeme Cuthbert Smash Repairs as a result of this http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...?showtopic=4339.

Think I saw a photo of it here somewhere and could be a member of this forum.

Think I may know the owner too. If it is yours, please PM me.

  7. if i'm free, i'll go anywhere. after exams (next week)... put a place and time and i'll be there... and we go cruising.

speaking of cruising... i wouldn't mind going on a gor one. one with the euro club today was absolutely awesome and the roads are a bliss to drive.

That wouldn't happen be the EuroCCA, right? I've heard they have really excellent cruises especially the one up to Silvan Dam.

If there was a cruise going up Lake Mountain, would anyone be interested?

  8. hi guys,

just wondering if this rear roof spoiler will fit onto the corollas here?? It's a genuine spoiler from toyota in the uk. U reckon $230-250 (unpainted and shipped) is worth it??

    post-1391-1131789309_thumb.jpg

    Got a reply from TTE...

    EUR161.67 for the Spoiler

    EUR170 for freight

This roughly translates to about AUD500-AUD600 for the part and I'm certain that it needs to be painted...

    Ouch...

  9. the best price i was quoted was from Cannon Toyota at Camberwell... they beat everyone by +$5000. the  price that i paid included Cruise control, tint, weathershields and floor mats and they were the only ones that didnt push me to buy then and there. thats how they got my sale,i still go there to get my car serviced and i live in Safety Beach... its a fair hike from home to Camberwell

You too have your car serviced at Cannon Toyota?!?! Same here, since when they were called Harris Wood Toyota; bought a Gen2 Camry off them from Used Cars and have always returned the car there for servicing - until it was written off last year in a car accident... :(

Those guys are the aboslute best for vehicle servicing as they are value for money (extra 10% discount for RACV members), providing top-notch customer service with attentive service technicians who will actually do something when you report a problem with your car.

They even fitted a Gen5.5 rear garnish, which I had purchased elsewhere on our Gen5 Camry for free.

Brighton Toyota - I have to agree that they are more expensive than other dealerships that I have visited, even their runout models are more costly!!!

For a good deal on cars though, I have to say Le Man Toyota out in Footscray. Even parts from there are actually cheaper by comparison to Cannon Toyota! B)

If anyone is going to get a car or parts through Le Man Toyota, let me know and I'll put you in contact with the right people there.

Here is my list from best to worst:

    Le Man Toyota (Footscray)

    Cannon Toyota (Camberwell)

Nunawading Toyota (Nunawading), Melbourne City Toyota (Melbourne City)

    Brighton Toyota (Brighton)

    Hey HDACHE...

Who was the sales guy that looked after you???

  10. All places I have been to suggest that I put in an insurance claim as the paint required for the job is difficult to mix as it is metallic and pearlescent; costing around $1000 plus having the blend it into the rest of the car.

Furthermore, they have to tear the doors (front and rear) apart - more so for the rear than for the front for painting as well as paint the door frames.

Additionally, the dent on the rear door has deformed the side instrusion bar so this needs to be straightened up. :(

The reason why I now know so much is because they have already done all the investigative work and waiting for me to either lodge a claim or indicate that it will paid for 'out-of-pocket'.

If a claim is lodged, our insurance rating will drop from 1 back to 3 as we just changed insurance companies at the start of the year and need to cop an insurance increase for the next 3 years to get to rating 1 for life.

  11. I'll organise a run to Mornington to soon, like I did last year as the weather gets warmer.  :)

Now that is a fun Drive thats pretty relaxed but keeps the grin wide and bright. I'll be in this one!

Yeah ditto regards the black spur. Watched e-gene surpass the limits of his stivo there as he said. Ask him his dry cleaning bill from that little incident before you go! :o

Keep it safe along Black Spur and it is fun, but ever heard of Reefton Spur, Chum Creek Road or the drive from Eltham to Kinglake to Healsville? Eltham-Kinglake run - no roadside barriers with one very blind right-hander right at the top of the hill!!!

    Here is one ultimate drive:

Eltham-Kinglake-Healsville with the latter going through Chum Creek Road

    Healsville-Lake Mountain via Black Spur

    Lake Mountain-Warburton via Reefton Spur

Did the above in this order - took me most of the day, but was bucket-loads of fun! B)

Even MCCR members agree that you can't lead big groups on the Eltham-Kinglake run as it is very dangerous.

  12. Well boys and girls, the decision has been made, the date is set for the Saturday 19th November 2005.

unfortunately this is the first day of laurie's new job so he cant get the day off, so it is all on me *hides under the desk*

the first post has been updated to reflect the final date. please update the list if you can not make it on Saturday 19th November 2005.

Thanks for your time boys and girls

    Donna  ^_^

I know I'm noob..., but I'll try and make it as it would be great to cruise with the Corolla pack...

  13. hi guys,

just wondering if this rear roof spoiler will fit onto the corollas here?? It's a genuine spoiler from toyota in the uk. U reckon $230-250 (unpainted and shipped) is worth it??

    post-1391-1131789309_thumb.jpg

I could be very wrong, but you can get that spoiler through TTE. I'm guessing that it would fit without any problems as there really isn't any difference with the rear door in any Corolla of this series wherever it is in the world. I think Bate's Corolla Rally car uses this spoiler.

I wish I had seen this before fitting my factory-lookin' aussie Corolla spoiler.

  14. Toyota told me they arent making them anymore, due to the obvious fact that hardly anybody was buying them...

That doesn't surprise me as there are not a lot of Camry enthusiasts out there.

In fact, may I dare say that all Sportivo buyers probably thought that they were supplied with the Sportivo Sports Muffler as standard and none of them actually took the time to browse through the accessories catalogue - let alone go through the spec sheet with a fine tooth-comb!

  15. Hi guys,

Really need help for this one...

Leaving the carpark, the car was severely scratched as the driver at the time failed to leave enough room when turning thus scratching the side of the car on the walls. The picture below gives you an idea of what has been damaged - the damage is caused on the other side of the car, so I have modified a current photo with the areas marked red as being damaged.

    Scratch.jpg

How much do you think it would cost to fix this up? I'm thinking about $500 - $1000 range.

The driver at the time I hear you ask??? One word...... Mum!!!

    Thanks for your help.

  16. Government organisations being fuel consious and leasing Corolla and Prius' I'm sure helps out a bunch too ;) Amazing how many white ones are popping up as courier transportation too

Especially those for Royal District Nursing Service - all white! I saw five brand new post-facelifted sedans all reverse-parked and waiting to be picked up when I serviced mine recently.

The Sales guys used the opportunity and took a few photos!
