  1. I was watching a docco on a rundown of the cars put forward for assessment by Motor Mag, and the tester doody was saying how impressive the Aurion was compared to others in it's class, going so far as to say that there wasn't much to talk about - if you have the money and want that class of car, the Aurion can't be matched. I can't remember where and when I saw it - anyone else find this familiar?

Or did I simply dream it... (they unstrap me to watch tv...)

Australia's Best Car (from major car clubs over Oz) voted the Aurion as best all rounder for the Large car class

    Wheels (Jan 07 issue) did the reverse - 1) BF II XR6, 2) VE SV6, 3) 380 VRX, 4) Aurion ZR6 (what a surprise!!!)

Motor hasn't done one yet..., but have reviewed the ZR6...

Drive.com.au has voted the Aurion ZR6 over both the BF II XR6 and the VE SV6 (this is a surprise)

However, this person at another site has compared all the base models and it is an interesting read!

    So u'll be over ur service...its a cruise...not sprint man...(lolz but knowing u...ehehe...i think u'd make it the latter :P )

    Come oN!!! :spiteful:

We want KZ...we want KZ...we want KZ!!

As much as I'd like Kaze to come along, I'd have to agree that the service should be done before pushing the car on GOR - you have piece of mind that your car is in good condition when it is being pushed.

  5. You should have just bought a Supra TT then :P

How much money are you seriously thinking of throwing at the Camry?

I think I already told you at the last meet, that there is a supercharger already in the making for the 2AZ-FE. If I ever stumble across the article again, I'll post it here for you.

It was announced in 2005 that this was in development as the same engine is used in the US only Scion tC.

I applaud Toyota for finally making the right decision regarding the engine/transmission pairing unlike the Gen5/5.5, but it still can't mask its inherent weight problem.

For your sake, I hope that the development and testing will be finished sometime this year, or change cars - Aurion perhaps??

Bring your Sportivo down not your other beast. Doesn't really fit in front of Toyota offices although the other company is nearby...

  7. Thanks for the review. I'm trying to read as many Aurion reviews as I can find and if I can, get behind the wheel and actually test drive the thing.

Did you notice that you had to wind the engine up to really get it going as this was one of the points that CarPoint mentioned when they reviewed the Aurion as well as the RX350 that uses the same engine?

Before the Aurion was press released, I saw it very minimally disguised on Station St in Box Hill near the intersection of the Eastern Fwy turnoff followed closely by a Gen6 Camry.

There's actually quick a grand-looking building near there so I'm guessing they were taking the Aurion there for photoshoots possibly for the Asian market.

  8. I drive a 3.0L Camry, mechanically the same but for a power deficit of a whole 5kw, and similar weights. It gets owned by Commodores.

I also drive a 3.0L Camry (1MZ-FE) and I think it really comes down to how the engine is tuned and what trans it is mated to it. I could be very wrong, but Commos and Falcons have good torque down low so a long 1st gear won't matter as it is 'cleverly' disguised by the torque.

The 3.0L mill has good mid-range torque and when mated to the four-speeder with a long 1st gear (compared to the current Corolla four-speeder - 2.something vs 3.something), it is a little slow so you have to 'punch it' to get somewhere.

    Just my two cents...

  9. I knew it! I knew it wouldn't have much go having had the (unfortunate?) chance of owning the Gen5 4-cyl Sportivo and even then I felt that the engine was lacking - something I finally resolved by trading up to the Gen5.5 V6 last year.
