  1. Thanks for all the quick replies. Good to hear that the gearbox isnt a problem. I'll ask Toyota to look at the idle when I get it serviced next. Cheers, Vanilla
  2. 05 Ascent with 22000 km on the clock. I've been having basically the same problem. Mine seems to happen after the engine has warmed up to normal operating temperature and then get really rough. It happens off and on when the car is warm. It has never happened when the car is cold, strangely. I'd love to get it sorted out...
  3. Okay, I'm an idiot. I just noticed the thread about the idle just underneath mine. That sounds like my problem there. Still unsure about the gearbox though.
  4. Hi people. I'm new here and I've had a bit of a poke around, but can't seem to find what I am looking for. I've got an 05 Corolla ascent wagon, which I have clocked up 22000 kms in. The gearbox is often quite difficult to engage first gear, particularly when rolling. It is a bit notchy in all gears (is this normal?) but first can really take a good shove to get it into gear. It feels like something is blocking it and I can feel a bit of a crunch/grind when I get it into gear. Is this just a normal thing or should I start to harrass Toyota to get it fixed. Secondly, sometimes when the car is warm, the idle can get a bit inconsistent. It often drops quite low (600-700) at which point it is quite rough and almost feels like it has a slight miss. This is with A/C off by the way. What I would like to know is are these common problems or just characteristics of the car, or should I be trying to get these fixed. The gearbox is particularly worrying me... Thanks for any help Vanilla
