  1. Happens when you run low on oil or don't change oil regularly.

Your valve clearance is off and may require adjustment. Also, you may need new tensioner pulley. Running thicker oil is quieten the noise down a bit.

Yeah the services were done on time up until it was traded (around october last year) I don't want to run thicker oil to mask it I would rather fix it for the piece of mind.

  2. Had the car serviced last week.

I worked out roughly the car hadn't been serviced for at least 6 months....

I had noticed a noise from the engine kind of like a wet rattle.

Mechanic said it could be a lifter or the vvtl-i component, he said its only when the oil pressure is low.

He said it might quieten down after a week or so of the good oil going through well it hasnt.

Performance hasn't been affected hit lift 1st popped 2nd and it spun in the dry on near new 205 turanzas for at least 10-15m so its performing

    Has anyone had this issue?

  3. I've moved to a new company and now require a new phone to work with the online system we have.

Up for swaps/sale is my 3 month old Blackberry Bold 9000

Would like to swap for one of the following:

    -iPhone 3GS

    -Nokia N97

    -Nokia N97 Mini

    Or Buy it for $450

Comes in the box with all the accessories just like you would pick it up from the shops.

Has facebook and msn messenger applications, great phone gets reception anywhere only getting rid of it as stated above.

  4. Just had it checked.

Mechanic said 90% sure its the front bearing.

Just rang a couple of places. One place straight out said change the compressor and its going to be $800-1400

Another place said if its only the front bearing it'l be $165 if its the compressor between $380 and $700.

    Does this sound about right?

Anyone know of any decent places in the strathfield or botany area?

  5. Thanks,

I had a rattle on my old bmw which was making a noise it was the throw bearing but i've ruled that out.

Yes the rattle is only when the compressor is on (with the fan only it doesnt do it) it doesnt do it all the time so it looks like it could be the oil.

I've had the car 3 weeks and an old guy owned it before me so im assuming never.

    Slow down tiger !

1st. Clutch? As in gb clutch? Forget clutch has nothing to do about ac rattle unless it's the compressor clutch!

2nd. Is the rattle only there when ac is on? Ie ac clutch compressor engaged ?

3rd. When did u last get a ac service? This involves a gas leak check, regas and change of oil ( yes ur ac has oil which lubricates moving parts ie compressor ) and a change of reciever drier

If ac compressor is noisy when operating more than likely it's low on oil ( yes it takes oil, which is usually checked at ac service ( not at a corner servo ) ) and compressor may of had it ! Dnt leav it for too long or can damage tx valve

  6. Hi,

I had the aircon going most of the weekend i've noticed that sometimes something in the engine bay is rattling.

It isn't happening all the time and is doing it with both the clutch in and out, as soon as the aircon goes off the noise goes, turn it back on sometimes its back sometimes its not it will randomly come and go.

Anyone had this issue? Its really annoying me and I want to fix it ASAP.

    Cheers
