  1. Hi all

I've had the same issue and I've found the best and least destructive idea I came up with was foam.

I work in the IT industry so many things comes packaged in anti static bags and foam.

This foam is the best thing around I recond.. just loosen the plates slightly, slip in about double the thickness of the gap needed (depends how tough the foam you have is) and as you tighten your plates it squashes it down and you don't even know any thing is there, looks 100% the same only diference is that you don't have vibrations or scratches any more :D

    Chers

  2. Looks shweet :-) Love the colour when it's in the light :)

I have a stupid question... Does the Celica have a rev limiter set to 8500RPM or is it also 8100RPM like the Sportivo's? Guessing it's the same as stivo but goes to 8500 because of the new cluster?

    Cheers

  3. I have not really used navman (except in hardly normals stores), I currently am using TomTom on my PDA and the new version is alot better then the old (just some little fixes and features).

I've also used Destinator for about 6-12months and find that TomTom maps are much better and there 3D routing is the best out there for clarity that I've seen... go the TomTom :-D

  4. Hi All,

    :help: LOL

I've got the face lift Sportivo if this makes a difference...

So would it be fair to say, narva plus 50's are the way to go if you just wanna replace the stock bulbs? if not what else is really good and legal that gives you more lights/better quality light with the same or less heat under $100 mark for the fronts?

I'm also looking at replacing my reverse lights with something a little brighter if possible (very dark drivway at home and hard to see at times). Again something not expensive, same or less heat but brights and good quality.

    Any suggestions?

    Regards

  5. Stupid question and I belive I've read this some place before but, can you buy the same size that our car comes with when new?

If not what is the best brand/range to get for a long life as well as good performance in rain and wet? Is there any testing data that compares the different tyres for our cars?

    Cheers all

  7. Yip go the clutch adjustment, fixed my issue 100% (changing in lift).

Fist time they did not do it right... still had issues, Toyota ended up changing syncros, gears (in the gearbox), clutch kit.... eventualy took the car to SouthSide Gabba (Brisbane) and they redid the clutch adjustment and it has been working 100% since then.

Also make sure Toyota does not charge you for it, I have heard of some people getting charged to get this done... Simply tell them it is a knowen program as per Toyota's tech note or what ever they call it. "http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2676"

I got the 2005 Face lift version of the Stivo and the clutch adjustment had not been done in the factory, you would think they would have fixed this up seeming as Toyota found the issue in 2004/2005 I belive.

Any way.. just make sure you get it done right... I know that South Side Gabba can do it well so if you are in Brissie maby give them a call see how long it will take them do get it done :-)

    Good luck :-)

  8. From memory the "handbook" states it is only a guide and can't be used as a reference to law. I remember seething this when looking this "fog light" law up before but my friend and I could not find any written reference online about this so called "fog light law".

Please could someone post an official link where I can get a copy of this law in writing as I would like a lawyer friend to have a look over it, as I have not seen or heard of this law officially in written before and would like a legal answer to end this matter once and for all :-)

Would be great if we can’t find it in writing, then we have something to keep in our cars for when coppers pull us over! heheheheh

  9. Sorry for the stupid question guys but does a short shifter help at all with gear changing issues (if you can't get into gears, as though it's locked?) I know I might need Toyota to ajust my clutch again (first time did not do a great job but alot better then before).

Sounds like a great price :-)

Also does any one know if this will cause any warranty issues with Toyota? (has any one got confirmation in writing?)

    Many thanks!

  10. Best place to get an idea of car value:

    http://www.redbookasiapacific.com/au/vehic...hp?key=TOYO03HX

Says the following: (You can look up any car, model and year)

I belive this is the site dealers use to work out there traid in price at times, (they have another login that public can't access) but gret site to look up...

    :D

  11. I had the same issues and got mine fixed under warranty.

Toyota MtGravat (Brisbane) replaced them for me and all crunching is gone...

However I still have an issue when shifting from 1st to 2nd when reving her in Lift (other then that she is running 100% now)... Much much better then before.

  12. I was thinking of getting one but after reading this thread I am not confused… LOL

Please could someone explain what exactly the pro’s and con’s are of getting the TRD quick shift installed?

Please don’t answer with a one sided/“it sucks” answer, I am after a bit more of a knowledgeable answer if any on knows? :D

  13. Try give Toyota Australia parts department a call, see if they can get you a price... I belive they just got the TRD part numbers in there system now (well at least some of them, not sure if they have them all yet).

They are working to get it all done and running but I'm sure it will not happen over night... Worth a call I recon.. Might beable to get it localy (Toyota Australia! :D)

    Good Luck (let us know)

  14. Yip I also have the same issue when using windows I do notice a slight dim in the head lights...

So checked out my mates Mazda 3 SP23 and his car also does the exact same when he uses his electric windows... must be a common thing I guess :-P

Another thing I have noticed is...

When leaving work at night jump in my car turn on the lights (cause it's dard by the time I leave) and about 1 second after pulling off my lights go dim (exact same as if I push the button on my windows).

This only happens after the first full off... I have tried warming up the car before pull off, and same things happens, soon as I pull off the lights flicker (once, quickly).

Even if I sit there reving the engine it's all good... just the very first pull off it happens... strange but true... not sure what it is but must be some electronic thing turing on when the wheels start turning???? NO Idea...

Not sure if it happens at home or not but happens every day after work (dark street so might tend to notice it or maby it's after the car is sitting for a longer period of time... who knows.. never really took too much notice of it really) :D

Ow well all is good any way :-)

    Cheers

  15. Can't wait for Toyota Australia to recive some TRD stock to sell so we can all buy all our TRD needs localy straight from Toyota! It should hopfully also not cause any warranty issues (still confirming this but tech's I've spoken to recon there should be no issues if you purchase from Toyota and get it installed by there techs, but we'll wait and see).

    Cheers
