  1. I'm very pleased to hear that your happy. However I would suggest that you look on website www.accc.gov.au and read about STATUTORY IMPLIED WARRANTIES. I am sure you will be very suprised to find out that the new car warranty that the manufacturer is so keen on promoting DOES NOT NEGATE STATUTORY WARRANTIES as laid down by THE TRADE PRACTICES ACT. The STAT waranties goes on for much longer than the DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER would like you to know about. If you contact Your .... DEPT FAIR TRADING (QUEENSLAND) Tel 13 13 04 or website www.fairtrading.qld.gov.au you will find that Queensland has "MIRROR LEGISLATION" to THE FEDERAL " TRADE PRACTICES ACT" A free booklet is availble titled "WARRANTIES and REFUNDS. I strongly suggest you get a copy read it, and then you'll see what I am refering to. GOOD LUCK, RON
  2. I bought a new 2003 3ltr Turbo PRADO, it is 51/2 years old Has done only 95,500 km's. I have had to have a new Radiator installed. The Dealer ( a large Toyota Dealer in Adelaide) is not interested, advising that it is no longer covered by Manufacturers Warranty. I contend that it is covered by Statutory Warranty as laid down in Trade Practices Act 1974. Tomorrow, 26 June 2009 I am taking out a civil Law Summons, in the Small Claims Court, to have my costs reimbersed. Has anyone had Radiator problems, where they have had to Replace their Radiator. if you have I would love you to contact me on E-mail address, romalill@esc.net.au.. Kind Regards, RON LILL
  3. Maba, Suggest that you may have some redress under the Trade Practices Act 1974. Statutory warranties, In short Manufacturers warranties are only Voluntary warranties, and after these warranties have run out you still have Statutory warranties. Manufacturers Warranties do not Negate Statutory warranties. If you contact your State Department of Business and Consumer Affairs, or The ACCC , on their web site, they may be able to steer you in the right direction. Good Luck, RTON LILL
