You shouldn't be shifting at 8,000rpm from 1st to 2nd anyway. 7,700 - 7,800 is a more effective shift point from 1st. You'll actually be going faster when you hit 2nd at that point because the torque curve kicks in perfectly.
Just practice more additionally. You'll soon figure out the little gate issue that 2nd has (you have to veer slightly to the left with the stick when selecting it).
PS: Do not 'rip' into it. Ease into it. Upgrading the clutch itself may improve this for you though.
-
damn, only sketched through it but it seems theres a lot of problems with the gearbox... one would think a car at the price and year of a sportivo wouldnt have such issue's
EDIT - read it a bit more and all thats needed is slight adjustment within the clutch... correct?
The clutch grab point is adjusted yes. There is nothing wrong with the gearbox, bar a slight 1st - 2nd gate issue that is overcome with practice, and ensuring that you head left a tad when selecting 2nd from 1st (this applies only when shifting at high revs, ie: when you are giving it a gutful). I still do this in the RX7 to this day due to the amount of times I applied it.
There was an ecu recall on 03's and some 04's. I had no issues with mine when I had it at all, bar gear selector cables (they rattled). The ecu was also recalled and replaced at no charge (as they should).

wow looks like it matches all the scratches on your hub caps...
*sigh* why cant people look after their cars more?

Only on these forums would you make a thread on the US election, and have it turn into a debate over the Australian Government.

There have been update issues (well, one specifically for me which is corrupt upon downloading) that can affect IE7.
Firefox is a good alternative to IE. It was much better in the early days in terms of security, but now viruses are exposing Firefox just as much as IE these days due to the usage. My attitude towards viruses is fairly laid back though. All my important / private data is stored on an external drive. If I get viruses, I re-image the entire machine.

Finally the US has some hope, because you need hope to change, and it's a change that every one instilled hope in each other for in order to change, and hope.

There's nothing wrong with magnatec. It doesn't belong in certain cars though that's for sure. Mechanics should read the label.
When I had my Sportivo I ran it on nothing but 5W-30 Edge. The recommended oil (the magnatec) was too thick imo.

I gotta say what's in my mind
Something about us
doesn't seem right these days
life keeps getting in the way
Whenever we try, somehow the plan
is always rearranged
It's so hard to say
But I've gotta do what's best for me
You'll be ok..
I've got to move on and be who I am
I just don't belong here
I hope you understand
We might find our place in this
world someday
But at least for now
I gotta go my own away
Don't wanna leave it all behind
But I get my hopes up
and I watch them fall everytime
Another colour turns to grey
and it's just too hard to watch it all
slowly fade away
I'm leaving today 'cause I've
gotta do what's best for me
you'll be ok..
I've got to move on and be who I am
I just don't belong here
I hope you understand
We might find our place in this
world someday
But at least for now
I gotta go my own away
Scratch all of it. You need to start listening to these guys:
Harden up, and start doing weights etc. Be a man, do the right thing.

Just smiles n luuuuvvvvvvvvvvv
That's it. That was the point I was trying to get across before I trolled my own thread.

and buddy read this topic through carefully and then tell me whos stereotyping who
To stereotype is to judge upon first impression. Emo's do that amoungst themselves all the time. Emo's do it to themselves, and then we join in. It's a vicious circle.
-
The only people who stereotype emo's are themselves. Human beings have the ability to make themselves into anything. I work across from a guy that came over to Australia on a tiny boat from Vietnam decades ago, with no family. He's contracted to a large international IT Solutions company as a Project Manager ($$$).
No sympathy for emo's.

Emos arent real people, the are a infection on society
wow do you really think ? so are you telling me when your emotional - like what heres a scenario your gf broke up with you, does that mean ur an infection ? a disease ? a STD ?
thats a really disgusting line - what you said of course, not what i just said
emos are still real people, their actually more real than you and I because they can actually feel pain and misery whereas what you might not ? so doesnt that make you "not real person" ?
Just dont do it on a car forum is all we should be saying
The whole point of this thread was to just tell people the harsh reality, and slap some sense into them basically. Although some people may think I'm a flamebaiting Troll son of a whore. Either way I don't mind.
BUT...re: SQU-47N's post:
I think he was referring to the common social trend that we see in modern youth culture, not the actual methodology of 'feeling' that is experienced by us as sentient beings.
When looking at Emo culture, we're presented with young members of either sex, dressing up in obscure (although given that the trend is now so very popular, you couldn't really call it obscure) clothing, of which when itemised presents nothing but black hoodies, doc martins and extremely tight jeans. On top of all this, their psychological outlook is grim because they think their parents hate them by disciplining them, and/or it is due to their failure at achieving 'Fanboi' status on Guitar Hero, or some other modern emopopculture trend, which in effect greatly reduces their ability to study and excel at something more meaningful for the human race. This spreads like wildfire amoung the kiddie-troop.
Being emotional doesn't label you as a terminal illness on society, but being an Emotrooper sure does.

My life is better because:
- Thanks to the copious amount of dodgy senators in the local Government, brothels occupy nearby suburbs like Aldi's
- I have love handles (I hear they're all the craze now with chicks)
- I'm into Led Zep
- I have a cat that can talk, and is an assassin for the lizard-like Draconian types, of whom are the ruling Shadow Goverment for the Earth in its entirety (They are the guys who reside on the dark side of the moon with Bon Scott).

Forum is full of emo people now. Build a **** bridge and live life.

Useless unless you can elaborate a bit more. What are you logging into? Windows I assume? What 'process'? You try and use Internet Explorer and it hangs?
I'm lost.
I assume you also have SP1. Regardless though, Vista is renowned for its finicky Admin profile.

I'm a public servant. I'm in a costume all year round practically.

This may sound harsh but it seems to be common-sense:
1. Live your own life. Don't hang in the shadow of your mother. She should know better. (Move out if it's really an issue).
2. If you don't want to be at uni, then don't be there. Go get some skills in the workforce (which is what many other people have done and they've turned out more than fine).
3. If your mother continually comes back to invade your life, tell that bitch to **** OFF, otherwise you'll be the one with an AVO against her.
4. Look after YOURSELF.
Like I said, it sounds harsh, but if you're feeling that way then something needs to be done.

Yeah, where's Rob these days?
Died of Malaria.
-
He's on owf, so is everyone else from Canberra from what I've seen.

Man do I have to do everything ??? you could always do some investigation yourself... It's not that hard lol
I'm looking to construct a Hadron Collider. Besides money and manpower, what other componentry, design elements, monitoring software and outright methodology would you recommend? Also how would you arrange particle data? It looks confusing.

Listen to angry music and start engaging in online games. That sorted me after a couple of weeks, although I was awake for the whole 2 weeks nearly. That could be bad.
Lol, dude, he's looking for a cheer up, not a suicide recipe. :D
True. I think I ate. I can't remember. It was an experience though.

It happens to me. Running 3.0.3 firefox on vista and after surfing for a few hours firefox will hang and be non responsive. Closing it down requires killing the process in task manager before starting up a new instance of firefox.
Haven't been able to fix it myself.
I prefer firefox over explorer as explorer was vulnerable to spam and spyware being downloaded without me knowing.
Seems to be the exact opposite now though. Firefox has turned into a problematic bitch for me. Was constantly clearing out crap from all the porn car forums I was looking at.
A bad truck rollover.. on the F3... not for the faint hearted
