  2. If you are talking about the two 8 or 10mm bolts sticking out of the chassis rail, I would say don't worry about them. They look like they are for some extra that wasn't fitted to our cars. Anyone know what they are used for?

yeah thats them but what are they for ?

  3. Hi there

just wondered if anyone knows what the bolts on the chassis rail do i have an 06 atx Aurion and hit an traffic island bent one of the forementioned bolts they are located in the middle of the back door on the chassis rail.

    thanks in advance

    Wayne

  4. The easiest way to find this said wire is to go down to your local auto supplier and purchase a 12volt test probe it comes with a alligator clip one end that attaches to an earth ( Car Body)and a probe that can be poked into any wire or socket if it lights u have 12 volts then turn car off it it is still alight it's a permanent 12volts

  5. I have an Aurion AT-X fitted with alloy wheels i have just fitted a set of bridgestone RE 001 215 60/16 adrenalin they are excellent in both wet and dry conditions and came at a very reasonable price $129 each fitted and balanced plus we get a $60 visa card to spend best set of tyres i've ever bought

  6. Yeah i have a 96 celica same set up as yours the split option is much better i have used boston acoustic rally series but these may be out of your budget as they cost about $500 a pair there are other options out there though alpine have some good splits there is also sony, polk, fusion if ya like green .... pioneer and so many other brands just make sure they come with a cross over so that the tweeters dont get the low bass im sure the guys at JB HI-FI could help you out here ... you may olso want to consider making a new parcel shelf out of craft wood and putting a good set of 6x9's there makes great rear fill then a four channel amp at a later stage to boost power ... Cheers

Yeap thanks mate, with the JB thing I never said I had an idea still learning here.

What do you mean by the tweeters? The tweeters havent been removed so they will stay there, am only replacing the door speakers.

SOrry if im catching up on the terminology haha. By splits do you mean both a speaker and tweeter for each side?

When i replace the speakers are you reccommending i replace the tweeters aswell?

I think your wood template might be the go, I was thinking about modding the current metal plate as it is useless anyway but think the wood option will be a whole lot easier, cheers.

Any more info to help me on my way is appreciated, cheers mate.

  7. Firstly the guys at JB HI-FI do know what they are on about. It would seam that your the one that don't. All you need to do is to make a spacer that fits the hole the easiest way is to trace around the original speaker then cut it out with a jig saw make it out of craft wood or ply that way you won't have vibrations then with your new speakers put it into the centre of the ring making sure it's in the middle trace around that and cut out the middle give it a light sand and paint it if you want makes the whole thing look better. the better option would have been to purchase a set of 6" splits that way you can put the tweeters back into the factory locations makes for a much better sound .... hope this helps .

Hey Guys, Recently I changed over my stereo head deck in my 1999 sx-r and either blew my front left door speaker playing with the wiring or realised it was blown.

So in I go to jb-hi-fi (AUSTRALIA) Guy informs me that it should be a 6" speaker, and me being the audio noob that I am brought the set (pioneers as I recently installed a pioneer face) Got home, took of the door panel, removed the speaker and once inside discovered that there was no way that the 6" were big enough.

Seems the celicas mount is extended to something near a 8-1/4 bracket but is still a 6" speaker, am I correct? Went back and returned the speakers to jb hoping to transfer for a set of 8" speakers when he informs me that they dont sell them, nor does anyone sell or even make them???

So the question is.... Where do I source replacement front door speakers for my sixth generation.

Any help, even just confirming the sizes/or what to do will be GREATLY appreciated, seems that the bogans at jb have no idea what there on about. CHEERS GUYS!

  8. Hi

As for the front seat removal there is a topic on here that shows you how to remove them thanx to DKOR as usual he knows everything aurion .

    http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=28403

and as for the wiring the black is the earth red is power the best way to tap into the centre console is from under neath where the wires are connected red to red and black to black you can either crimp them together using snap terminals or the best way is to strip the red wire back using a blade and soldering them on . * Note that if you are using this you may not be able to use it for anything else as the fuse will not handle much more load .

    Hi Guys,

Since I am a visual person, can anyone post a couple of pics of where to insert the red and black power wires for a couple of LCD's ? using the center console power of course. a sketch will do also. I read a little bit about an install a couple of months back, but the whole wiring thing was kind of left out.

each lcd has a black and red wire, do i need separate points for them, or just twist together and put them into the same spot.

( i know the sparky's are cringing at my lack of knowledge )

Also, does the back seat panel unscrew or have snap ins ?

    cheers

  9. Hi everyone,

im trying to install Dvd headrest and i need to run the wires through the headrest holes.

to do that i need to remove the back plastic in the front seats but i cant figure out how to remove the plastic with out breaking.

i have the sportivo model whichi think is different to the ATX, prodigy and presara.

    can anyone help?

    thanks

    Hi

I have an Aurion ATX and have done the head rest dvd conversion on this model all there is if you look at the bottom of the seat you will see carpet it is simple to remove all you need do is reach under the seat and it has elastic holding it unclip it and it will reveal 2 screws that you need to remove then its just a simple pull the plastic of the map pockets downwards and its done . not too sure if the sportivo is the same . Hope this helps

  10. TRD Suspension kits are good but very expensive (They're TRD after all) if possible, look for alternatives cause TRD Suspension are made I think by KYB... ;)

TRD are great equiptment no question there but there are many suspension makers out there the likes of KONI and BILSTEIN would be more then what you would require matched with KING springs a very good quility spring you would be in business plus if you want height ajustable you can do it with both makers and some come with a sport mode .

  11. BTW, how long did the Autome305 unit take to get to you? I guess I'm going to have to get one of these soon.

I installed mine over the weekend, and it arrived about 5 working days after I purchased it on ebay.

My setup included hooking it up to two new headrest screens that I also bought from ebay ($200 delivered, bloody awesome!).

The headrests were the hard bit, as it involved soldering to get the power from the console cigi lighter to the units. (now if only I could get the sound to be able to go directly to these screens, so the kids can use there headphone!)

I need to give massive thanks to both DJKOR, for his fantastic guides for replacing the HU, and for giving me a quick personal message to ease me through the soldering (made my neighbour do it btw). I have no experience with car electrics, and the headunit replace was very simple. DJ's guides gave the confidence to attempt this mod. And that saiys a lot as I get scared when I have to jump start a car!

I big thanks also needs to go to TRDCELICA, for his emails and support with most of the Headrest install. Thsi was the hard part, and he is a bloody champ.

    Thanks guys.

Pics of the headrest would be nice.. :) ;)

I also have headrests installed though mine differ from the ones bseven installed mine are actual dvd players where as

bseven just has screens the ones i chose are fully motorised for the disc eject not like the other ones on the market i purchased them from straithfield car radio for $688 which ive found out it was a bargin there is a link here but much more pricey i have the 8.5" screens and theyy came with ir headphones http://www.easyparkaustralia.com.au/shop-m...dvd-player-x-2/ mine also came in grey which is so close to factory its hard to see any difference . i will post some pics soon .

  12. Hey there

I'll be able to report on the Autome unit when it arrives in a week or so.

But as a matter of pure price comparison - I got my HU in an Ebay auction from Autome for $490 delivered to Queensland (no digital television as I dont want to watch television in the car and no rear camera) - so that's $1200 cheaper than the other local option. That's enough for a nice set of 19in wheels :)

Has anyone done this audio swap in an 06 Aurion and how does it fit ive seen some pics from this forum that have gaps not too keen if that how they fit would rather do reto fit instead
