  1. As i read the posts around this forum on tyres for the KXS, i read people getting a life of 33k, 40k, or 20 k from thier OEM tyres . I assume all australian Klugers come with the bridgestone D400 on each corner. Now i'm not trying to brag here but my october 2008 KXS is at 53k with another 5 k to go. I don't hink i do anything special, just driving on the M1 exit 41 to gateway bridge every day. trips to gladstone, moree, Gunadah, coffs harbour etc. however i do have to make decsion soon and i would love to hear from Paulg on his current feelings on the Toyo or luk3y on the Yoko's hope someone can give thier current feelings on a tyre other than Bridgestone. which by the way has ben a good tyre.
  2. Hi Whofan Not sure sure how good the hancooks are now, But used to have them on a Pajero SWB as my road tyres and they were pretty good. Personally I wouldn't be putting 255/50 R19 on the kluger as the smaller diametre just compounds the speedo error. Found this table on this web site - http://www.alloywheels.com/tyrecalc.asp which shows tyre size comparison arround that for the 245/55 R19 Tyre code Diameter Circumference Difference ---------- -------- ------------- ---------- 255/50 R19 738 mm 2318 mm -1.93 % 265/50 R19 748 mm 2350 mm -0.6 % 275/50 R19 758 mm 2381 mm 0.73 % 245/55 R19 752 mm 2362 mm 0 % 255/55 R19 763 mm 2397 mm 1.46 % 255/45 R20 738 mm 2318 mm -1.94 % 265/45 R20 747 mm 2347 mm -0.74 % 275/45 R20 756 mm 2375 mm 0.45 % 245/50 R20 753 mm 2366 mm 0.12 % 255/50 R20 763 mm 2397 mm 1.45 % 245/45 R21 754 mm 2369 mm 0.24 % 255/45 R21 763 mm 2397 mm 1.44 % for me the only option is to go the either bridgestone or toyo - 245/55 R19 or yokohama 255/55 R19. obviously i know the bridgestone as current tyres at 52,000 km. got another 5000 - 10,000 kms left. Does any one have comments on the toyo (cheapest) or the yokohama (slightly cheaper than the bridge stone). toyo sales guy tels me i should get 80,000 kms?? is that likely with mainly highway driving? I would appeciate any advice. regards
  3. Day 35 Home again in Darwin! Total trip distance about 9200 kms! I will measure the tyre wear soon and summarise the tyre performance. Hi Paul maybe i missed something, did you do a finalsummary of your trip at Christmas? i'm sure you have even more experience running arround darwin etc. i would appecriate hearing your thoughts. My bridgestone D400's are at 52,000km and i have about 5-10000 left. so i will be making a decision soon. the local toyota dealer quoted me $660 a corner. obviously i laughed at him. best deal i found for the bridgestones in my local area- 485 each and the toyo's are $360 ea. so obviously i'm pretty interested in the Toyo . wouldlove to hear your thoughts soon, or if i missed something please advise the link. cheers and regards
  4. I have just purchased a KX-S which arrived on Friday. I had the same problem. An employee noticed the first call that I made back to the office. He said it was hard to hear me and my voice was distorted. In my previous car I had a motorola car kit installed with a seperate mic and speaker. I have a Nokia N95. After checking forums on the weekend I think I have found the solution. During a phone call turn the volume adjust knob up. You will now notice the volume max is only 14 - not 60 as with the radio/CD playback. This should fix the problem - I tested the adjustment with the same employee and he said the incoming call from my KX-S is now much clearer than before. My voice was now louder and no longer distorted. :D I also noticed on page 25 of the manual there is a section called 'setting the volume' which is in the chapter on hands-free operation. It just isn't very clear. The manual also says you can adjust the volume of the ringtone in the same way - adjust it while it is ringing. Let me know if this works for you? Thanks Hado gonna try this next chance i have 5 mins. i'll let you know how i go. cheers Marine man
  5. rusty are you bluetoothing with the toyota audio unit inn the car or a seperate bluetooth device? cheers marine man
  6. Hopefully someone can help here. I have Blue tooth connected to my Nokia e51 with the radio in the KX-S. works great for me, but i have been told that i sound like i'm talking in a saucepan etc and call quality for the other person is terrible. (yeah no comments please on my voice etc Haha) I did have this from a number of people. So i have now stopped the blue tooth with the radio and use the blue tooth with the Garmin Nav. which i haven't had any complaints. this is a hassel cause to talk hands free (which i always do), in the car, I have to connect the Garmin etc etc. I suspect the problem is with the mic which I assume is behind the grill next to the front interior light. my Question/s - has anybody had the same experience? is there some adjustment i can make? or should i get an aftermarket mic fitted and recomendation for a SE brisbane installer? cheers
  7. been watching the forum for some time now have something to say so thought time to join. I have Kluger KX-S AWD. which is my second Kluger. the previous was a KX-R AWD 5 seater. I enjoyed the KX-R (loved the storage in the back) it was my arm chair ride to work (previously had a Comodore SV6). the KX-S AWD is streets ahead, corners flatter, the heated leather seats are fantastic this time of year. i grudgingly accepted the 7 seated version (all you could get in the KXS it think) when i got the vehicle, but have found it to be a very useful feature. we can take the grand parents out with the family instead of them having to tag along in thier car. look forward to learning more about my vehicle. cheers :P :P :P
