  1. Hi all,

I'm looking at buying a set of Cooper 265/65R17 for my dual cab, I don't know if I should get the ATR or the ST. Can some one tell me the difference betwwen them as far as the auctual day to day driving. I do go to the sand dune about 10-15 time a year.

Oh... by the way the best price I can find for the Cooper ATR is $260 fitted & $340 fitted for the ST. Are these price any good ??

    Thx. all

I work in the tyre industry? We do not sell Coopers but have fitted a few for customers. The ATR would be (of the coopers the one I would recommend for what you said you were doing. The local Cooper sales guy said the ST gets realy really niosy when it is on the road for too long and it heal and toes realy badlywhich will reduce the life of the tyre. Be careful of the warranty too. It does not cover you for of road use (AT ALL)

  2. We have a SV11 Camry which I like and would like to keep. Does anyone have parts or know who is a supplier, could they please let me know?

I know some different people who do different parts. What are you after New S/H ? Engine? Body work? Suspension, Drive Line Brakes?

  3. Google will bring a few up, not very detailed though.

Also note: a few of the sites offering downloads of manuals are high risk sites and you should avoid them.

Google WOT and download/install if you don't already have it. It will display a coloured ring alongside search engine listings. Don't go near the ones marked in red.

    Hope this helps.

IU bought the electrical workshop manual from Toyota Cost $120 If you can find someone to digitise it would be happy to share.

  4. just a quick question about your set up, how much did the king spring lows lower the car? as far as i can tell, king springs dont make standard springs for the paseo and im not too keen to lower my car 30mm cus im just keeping it on stock wheels.

Marty I keep meaning to ask you. I have been trying to get an Owners Manual( the one you get in the glovebox when the car is new) and have not been able to get one. I have tried Genuine first. Was wondering if yours is in tact if it would be possible to Scan it and send it to me. Alternativly would happily come to Gladstone for a visit.

yeah mine is still intact, I still have the service book aswell, though it's been mostly used because I've done 190xxxks. I'll have a go at scanning it and see what sort of quality I can get out of it

    That would be awesome

  6. Turanza ER300 - 195/55/16r 87H, FYI,

be careful when buying new tyres especially Bridgy's as they do not meet the minimum Speed rating (V). Although this is not a problem, I think it is neglegent to supply tyres below the manufactures specifications.

    H - 210km/h

    V - 240km/h

And what I would like to know is why some d*h* bureaucrat says I have to fit tyres that have a minimum speed rating equal to or exceeding the original fitment tyres ( 210 kph ) and then that same agency limits me to a top legal speed of 110 kph. Why can't I fit tyres with a speed rating of 160kph as I am not likely to exceed this speed.

For the record I currently have the Toyo ProxesT1R in 195/55 which grip like no-one's business especially in the dry and will be changing to the Toyo Teo plus shortly.

Tyres are rated at what they are capable of. Tyre speed ratings have to do with uniformity of the tyre. The higher the speed rating the greater the uniformity. A "V" rated tyre is loaded on a barrel with another barrel loaded against it at its maximum weight and spun for 24 hours at 240 kmh. It must show no signs of distortion affter this period. It has nothing to do with speed you drive at. The manufacturer of the vehhichle sets the speed rating of the car using a complex formula of power, torque of both engine and brakes . It also takes into acoount top speed of the vehicle and cornering ability.

The higher the speed rating the better the casing uniformity is. This means usuallyat 110 kmh a much smoother ride.

These are after and before shots. The 2nd pic not lowered had 17" wheels on it and the tyres are way to tall filling the gaurds well but causing all soughts of dramas

  9. That is what we used and it rides really well. I got a really good deal on the KYB s from Car Bitz here on the sunshine coast. I called KYB direct and they told me who the local dealers are. I am in the trade but paid cash and bought them direct saved about $120 over the quote I got from AUTOBARN, and my mate is the local manager. Hope that helps

ah true, i work at SuperCheap Auto so i get 25% off the parts, i think i worked it out that i can get all the parts for about $640. havent really looked around for prices cus i figured not too many places would be lower than that.

also, what did you do for bushes? like did you replace any or just keep the old ones?

The bushes in ours are in pretty good condition but being brisbane i would be calling fulcrum suspension they make super pro which supercheap are you at. I have just started as manager of tyreplus in nundah.

  11. i was talking to a guy at work, and he was saying that if i get lowered springs i need lowered shocks.

if thats the case, what sort of shocks should i be getting if i'm gonna be using king spring lows?

Did you get it soughted marety ? We are doing the same job. I have fitted Monroe with kings and it does not ride well at all!

I fitted these today and the result was fantastic would recomend this set up.

  12. We have bought one of our kids an EL54 Paseo its black I have lowered it and put some 16 inch alloys on it it looks grea. I would like to get here the original owners manual.

We are in sunshine coast Qld and would be willing to pay frieght{postage} with in Australia

  13. Wheel nut torque has to do with thread pitch and length of stud. So it is the same for alloy and steel, Information from NJOY book at work Neverfurphy is tyre wheel guru sunshine coast. Ai least I think I am
