  1. I sorted it out myself thanks - I had a couple of choices as the Parrot does not like to be on amplified speakers so I could have used a relay like the David Navone ELECTRONIC A/B SWITCH N-806, to switch the amp when a phone signal came in - but I took another option as I only amped the front speakers. I switched the speaker pins for the Parrot to my rear speakers and left the front on the amp. It still works a treat.
  2. I've just done a component install in the front but didn't take pics. The tweeters were a bit of a pain to install as the originals are installed with an inbuilt bracket, which meant some painful customising. I disassembled (ie destroyed) the factory tweeters and used the frames as brackets. I also needed to drop the height a bit as the Vibe Lite Airs are domed and didn't quite fit at the standard height. I'm still fitting amp so not sure of SQ yet. I'll pop the cover and get a pic tommorrow if I remember.
  3. I have searched the forum and come up zip - I have spent the weekend starting the install of a Rockford Fosgate p400-2 amp, vibe lite air 6 speakers etc. I intend keeping the stock Aurion AT-X headunit and have a Parrot bluetooth already installed. The Parrot device currently sits between the HU and the speakers. As I understand it I will need to wire in a line out convertor on the speaker wires to install the RCA to amp of HU. With the Parrot I am guessing I will need to do this between Parrot and amp (Rather that HU & Parrot)? According to the Parrot instructions I will also need a mute wire as apparently muting is required on amplified systems. (According to their guide the HU mute controls the amplifier enable line. (Is the Amp EN the blue remote switch to the amp) - Is there a mute wire on the Aurion HU? Any other tips?
  4. Just had my 45,000 km on an ATX 2008 at Scarboro Toyota for $451.80 a little steep when at Adrian's Car Service in Balcatta - who do a reasonable job & do my other car - I got an offer in the mail for Silver Service - $119.00 i.e. change oil & filter, top up fluids and comprehensive check & report. Scarboro Toyota charged 1) Parts Filter- $22.49 Air Filter $49.54 Emissions Service $30 (what is that??) Engine flush $15 Castrol 10W/30 Mag oil $79.71 (could have got it for max of $35 at Supacheap) Misc $19.46 etc, etc $more 2) Labour $190.91 Total $451.80
  5. After watching the market for 12 months, I recently purchased a ATX Aurion 2008 model 38k on the odometer in Perth for $17400 from Manheim Fowles Auctions - ex Govt car in good nick. Couldn't have picked better. Looked at a Sportivo for 21.5k - same year and k's but couldn't justify the extra cash. If you can get an 06-07 with reasonable miles for around $12k in good nick buy it as you have done very well. I have noticed a few QLD flood damage repaired cars turning up of late, so make sure it has the books with it and if from QLD steer clear. Also check the written off vehicle register, as a few repaired cars ex the Perth storms are coming back on the market - and appear a bargain but beware.. To add a couple of things that I have in my other cars, not in the ATX and miss - 1) Climate control 2) Fuel eco guage - distance to empty 3) Seats are OK but not as comfortable as sports seats in my other cars also 1) the electric driver's seat is slow 2) the boot light is dim But on saying that in $ for $ terms it is excellent value and I am extremely happy with the ATX. The thing I thought I'd miss were the alloys, but not having to get on my hands and knees with a toothbrush and clean every week is an added bonus.
  6. Thanks all - I have purchased some of the strip LED's and will give them a go. I guess they don't need any resistor wired in and I can wire them up directly behind the manufacturers light? I almost went for the plug in type but were concerned about the directional nature of LED's & think (hope) I get a better spread of light using these.
  7. Has anyone got any suggestions on the best products / ways to enhance the boot lighting in the Aurion. My light barely lights itself.
  8. Very interesting. I've got an '08 ATX and was wondering if anyone can comment on whether the Fusion Powerplant-FR6920 two ways are suitable for the rears (run off an amp). I notice the speaker depth in 83mm
