  1. Thanks great stuff there but im after the rear sedan's parcel shelf speakers. The engine stuff will come very handy
  2. Hi guys, has anyone removed the rear shelf on the ZRE sedan to change the back speakers? I tried and failed. Maybe im just being to soft with the clips. Any been there tips would be very grateful!!
  3. sweet thanks for the directioning
  4. i ordered a cusco rear sway bar (942 311 B16) as the same as the hatch owners on here, one of the sedan owners here JE-55-EA fitted them to his sedan so going by his part number i eventually got one from greenline motorsports online. yeah i hope this is a good "next stage" in handling, since putting lower springs, new wheels and bigger better tyres u notice straight away your car can take corners better and lean in at a higher speed. your right about the rear swinging a little bit so i'm hoping this will make the difference from the first list of handling mods. Keep us all posted, ill suss out the sway bar for myself. Im ordering the strut brace next week. I also hope to have the car running again this weekend after blowing up my engine a while back. I managed to punch a hole on both sides of the block. At least i now have a spare engine worth of sensors etc :-)
  5. yeah i always had the "u get for what u ay for" mentality but they all fitted in pretty well actually. i just double checked that i tightened the bolts securely and made sure they didn't wobble once fitted. i was going for the smoked one as well but figured i would like to keep it stock looking and less attention of the cops :P just another thing did u have trouble taken the orginals off? because the main lights had 3 bolts and two trunk ones had 2 bolts but all four had this permanent white tab thingy which were a bitch to get off to the point i actually had to cut them off. luckily the new ones came with them and u just pushed them into and re-lock them in. thats right the white tab things they were a bitch!! I broke the drivers side but saved the passenger end. ive had mine for almost a year now and still no issues, so quality seems to be holding also. I didnt think at the time but had to later order the bumper reflectors in smoke. As soon as i fitted the tail lights and stood back it looked so dickie. lol Any future plans for the car? I like the grill change also. hehe well atleast i'm not alone when i was swearing and being confused as to why they wouldn't come off so easily and how the hell i was to remove them. yeah i'm in the same boat for the reflectors, i've seen mods done to it but kinda gonna let it slide for now. from here on out it's gonna be handling mods before the engine i guess, i've ordered a rear sway bar and hopefully front strut in future. all show no go for now haha :P Where are you getting the sway bar from? I have not found any that suited the sedan? very keen to fit the same suspension supports it sways a bit in the rear even with the lowering springs adn fat **** 18's

  7. What he said, looks like the wrong nuts for the job. Hey not sure how much room you have or if you have got it off yet but, have you tried welding something to the broken bit and use that to remove the nut? Maybe weld on a standard nut to the broken edge? Gotta be careful you dont weld to the wheel stud itself. Its hard to see the room you have to play with from the pic. Oh nice rims!!
  8. hey they look good. I got the smoked LED rears. Half expected them not to fit. You never know what you get from o/seas ebay. :-0
  9. Im running the Adaptronic 440 in my turbo rolla. Runs sweet. Had Andy install and tune it himself in Sydney. No regrets. So many great features plus the usual options of laptop control etc.
  10. Revlimit was still the factory set due to the stock internals etc. Car was not running lean after the adaptronic tune. It was tuned sweet as. It ran a bit lean to rich before the proper tune. I have sourced a company in melb to make me my new pistons and conrods, have already got my new block and head. once the car os back together ill be dumping the electronic drive and going old school cable set up. Anyone know a good person who can set up the cable drive?
  11. pis not the best the conrod is only have an inch long still attached to the crank but all else is gone. I hope to strip down the engine on sunday so ill take some better pics with it on the engine stand
  12. nah going to run with the standard head gasket. Its factory as a 3 layer metal gasket. When i have the new pistons made up it will be designed with a dish to give a lower compression. will loose some kw from doing so but then can increase boost and/or run a bigger turbo once the internals are stronger and then bring better dyno results. Well.... thats the plan i hope it works out. Trial and error. :-)
  13. oh also just bought myself a 96 v6 5speed camry to cruise round in during the rebuild. couldnt bear the thought of the bus to work everyday.
  14. Yeh i knew i wouldnt last long but i had another 2 months on my guess on its life. Just brought forward my rebuild for a stonger engine. No regrets!! I knew what i am getting into. Not the first time i have smashed a hole in the side of the block. Last one was a rolla also. :-) Like the old saying goes "If its got tits or tyres your gonna have problems" lol
  15. hey am spewing couldnt make it to the cruise today at kiama etc. I blew my engine during some tyre slip in 2nd at 4000rpm. pics are of my block and the hole i have on the side. The zre conrod is very thin. My suzuki GTI (engine for my mini) conrods are thicker than the ZRE have offered. Bit dissapointing for a Toyota. Have found a new engine with 5000kms, ill strip it down and build in custom forged conrods, pistons and crank. Ill also do some work on the head to make the ports a little bigger etc. Once im up and running again ill post new dyno results etc. Give me 4-6 months for my next dyno showing.
  16. Have to cancel coming to the cruise as i have blown the engine in PLYTME. Sorry guys was looking forward to it.Maybe next one
  17. Another utube link to watch re the install
  18. Hey, car handles great, no torque steer issues above the stock engine.
  19. Im very happy, it was better than i expected with the stock internals and boost set as turbo came. The turbo has an adjustable actuator so can do much better but im not game until i build the engine stronger and drop the compression. The car is still with adaptronic today to do the general wiring tidy up and last final tuning fixes. I get it tomorrow so ill let you know about the handling.
  20. After a long wait i can now finally give a you all a progress report for my turbo’d ZRE. So car summary: • 2007 ZRE Corolla Conquest, manual putting out 147.kw at 9psi and 235nm torque with stock internals • T25 Garrett Turbo with custom exhaust manifold (black ceramic coated), 3”dump with full 3” exhaust twin tip with high flow cat and mufflers • Custom intercooler piping (black ceramic coated) • Greddy FMIC • XSpurt 725 injectors • Pod Filter • Adaptronic 440 ECU (http://adaptronic.com.au/products/440.html) • Gear detection boost control • Innovate MTX-L wideband o2 sensor with gauge • Turbosmart Super Sonic BOV • Gizzmo Racing digital boost controller • Shadow turbo timer • Carbon fibre Drift gear knob • LED tail lights, smoked with matching bumper reflectors • Pedders lowering springs • 18” rims with tyre profile 18/225/40 • Slotted front disc brakes • Custom alarm with digital tilt sensors, multiple immobilisers, break glass sensors, auto window up when doors locked. • In-dash Sony DVD player • 12” Sony subwoofer • Kenwood amp for sub and pioneer amp for rear speakers (all still factory) What next: Next i plan to work on the engine internals, have an LSD fitted for greater traction, heavy duty clutch (none yet available waiting on Exeedy to make one), upgrade factory speakers and fit a body kit with carbon fibre bonnet with reverse scoop to work with the oil cooler top mounted to not interfere with the FMIC airflow Special thanks so far: • Andy from Adaptronic • Liverpool exhaust • Family and friends for their patience and driving me to the various venues to drop off and pick up the car
  21. piping looks messy!! I hope to get my car back tomorrow or tuesday with dyno results. I will also take some pics of how i set up my FMIC piping.....
  22. Only 6 more sleeps until PLYTME goes to Adaptronic to the ECU install. Andy has a new ECU coming out in Feb (the 440) of which i get to have installed to my car next week. As soon as i have dyno results etc ill post up. Cant wait!! Its going to be an expensive month, new ECU, 4 new tyres (18x225x40), engineering then rego.
  23. Hey just wondering if any toyota fans want to arrange a meet in Canberra in the new year? Maybe tie it with those travelling to canberra for Summernats?
  24. nice!!! Have to make an effort to show up to the next event.
