  1. hey all i inquired about a magnaflow muffler to buy. asked for a 2.5" inlet but they said they dont have 2.5" inlet.

they said they got the 2.25" though.

they said they get them from America and that they measure the inner diamter. so therefore their 2.25" is close to 2.5" which is measured by the outer diameter in Aus?

    am i getting this right?

so im safe to get the 2.25" muffler?

or does anyone have exact measurements of their magnaflow muffler which is 2.5" inlet

    for a sportivo

    thank you!

  2. Finally got the new front on. Facelift TTE front fitted on a pre-facelift. Not a straight fit, but eventually got all the bits sorted out in the right places.

looks good. do you know any more shots of the rear?

do you reckon the rear altezza lights look tacky or good? thinking about putting them on my black stivo

  3. no need for a button clutch in a lil corolla.

button clutches are like a normal clutch after u've driven it for a bit!

    to OP.

a standard clutch will be fine for the ascent.

something like exedy or xtreme clutches. or get a heavy duty organic if you must.

button clutch is not like a normal clutch good bite yes but they wear out very quickly if you dont use it correctly and they dont just wear out the clutch plate but the flywheel as well how do i know i have a button clutch 4 puck and well it still works untill i feed on the power with 21pound of boost and yes its in a corolla

i meant feel wise, how some people complain of how hard to drive with button clutches since it only likes to be either engaged or disengaged. just saying it feels like a normal clutch to me.

i use to have a 4 puk brass button in my old car :)

they arn't very friendly with the box either. i broke 2 gearboxes in my old pulsar with the brass button most likely contributing to that!

  5. should be a guide on here.

it's easy as! if you're not that handy im sure you can do it with the guide.

    remove battery

remove the airbox. remove snorkel and electrical attachments. unplug the vacuum hoses

be careful when removing the maf sensor so that you dont damage it.

now maneuver the cai in, under the fuse box, down into the hole behind the foglight. you'll see clearly where the brackets on the ces cai will line up so pop them in loosely with supplied rubber things.

get your silicone thingie on with the clamps and line it up and on the throttle body. when everythings ok, tighten everything up! put in maf sensor/electrical attachments/vacuum hoses.

remove the bottom splash plastic thingy so you can get access to put your pod on

if you want you remove your front bar to make things easier you can, but you dont have to!

took me about an hour to do on my sportivo

you should of got some install pics from ces if you bought it new

    goodluck!

  6. just thought i'd update this thread.

i recently put in a 3A racing pod filter as per the pdf file i've read posted here on the forums somewhere on it's strong points on filtration and ability to literally suck more as compared to others (and by comparison of pods, it includes injen as well).

ever since i installed the 3A racing pod, without resetting the ecu at all, the check engine light dissapeared and hasn't come back for a few days now.

i think it was because the injen pod has oil in or on it which the maf sensor picks up as a contaminant and throws the CEL? whereas the 3A racing pod is a dry type filter..

i could be wrong and the CEL may come up but i got a good feeling it may be the pod...

    any comments welcome.

    cheers,

    tom

    hey,

you may find out that the 3A racing filter is not a dry type and is recommended to be oiled as well.

i believe kenshin on the forums found out by calling the 3A racing manufacturer and they recommended that their filter be oiled.

  7. i know every dyno varies but that figure is weak!

drivability shouldnt be that bad! did 999 automotive tune it? i wouldnt let them near my car.

maybe after a retune with someone reputable should be sweet?

  8. nice sportivo and impressive mod list. whats the power output on this beast? around 140kw or more?

HAHAHA i wish. Here is the latest dyno printout

    dynoo001.jpg

shouldnt you be expecting a lot more? you could reach 119kw with just i/h/e i believe? how much gain did you make from stock?

  9. i would not be hoping much more than 120fwkw!

from your base power of 85-110 which equals 25kw gain. that is a very decent gain! would be very happy with that! you will get no where near 150kw at the wheels without some help of induction most likely.

    downside is your base power.

how's your car feel? feel good? notice the difference in power?

it may be just a low reading from the dyno

  10. yep i did what he said. havnt really tested it out, but so far my impressions are

that it smoothed out the power curve

no more dip in power before lift kicks in (kinda feels like it's not as powerful because there's no more kick) lol

more power and torque down low

easier on hilly roads with gears before that i found lacking in power.

and lift is soooo beautiful and LOUD!!

  11. yeah got it as part of the group buy. just went to pay for it only, but they had 1 on the shelf ready so.. :)

one the hoses from the black canister thing was too short for my liking, as it was stretched to reach. only was on half the nipple on both ends, so I just replaced it to give it some slack
