  1. I got my dvd/gps unit off a guy here in Melbourne. He had an ebay site. Can't remember the name but he referred me to his preffereed insaller whom stated that it was a reliable unit. Good thing is that I can still use my steering controls to control volume and skip titles...havent looked back since

  2. I happen to get my intermediate shaft spline replaced under warantee. Biggest difference ever. You dom'y get the knocking sensation whilst steering. My advice to all of you who are getting it done is to ensure that the service guys allign your car again. I drove off not realising that my allignment was off. Luckily the guys at Toyota Essendon did my allignment without issue

  3. @ alphamox, yeah you were following me.

it was just after the last stop off when some of the guys went to dandenong and others went home like us.

Don't worry you were doing the speed limit cause i was and you were staying about the same distance from me during the camera bit.

Awesome :) thanks for the reassurance. Good to have exercised the V6..Don't do it as often but there is a first for everything :) Besides being an ocean liner, I'm suprised that it had decent handling and with some small mods, it could make it better...too bad I'm strapped for cash and my next mod will be the lip kit

  4. Hey guys,

thanks for the cruise. Hope everyone got home safe.

BTW there was a speed camera on the way back after everyone had stopped together for the last time. Hope nobody got nicked.

Looking forward to the next one

Where exactly if you dont mind me asking....I think my friend in the camry and I were trailing behind you. Was the camera before the last stop off or after?? I am confused. Now you got me thinking

Anyway I just want to say thank you for making my first toyota cruise enjoyable. A bunch of interesting characters as well as cars. My friend too had a good time in his pimped out toyota camry and he said he will join the next one in the near future

  7. Hey guys,

I might join this run. This will actually be my first Toyota cruise that I'll be participating in. My car will probably not keep up with you guys if this is going to be kind of a togue run. My car is setup for cruise only and btw its a Toyota Aurion. Nothing special really, its got 19" wheels, K&N typhoon kit and hopefully by then, I'll have my sports mufflers in place.

1stkill, how have you been mate :)?? Looks like it will be you and I on the Aurion side of things

  8. Automatics with a loud muffler sounds terrible, especially when the gear changes.

    I wouldn't bother.

It really depends what mufflers you get. If you rush buy and don't get the proper mufflers, like what I did :(, your car will sound like a tiger tank and drony inside. I had my mufflers on for two months and removed it because it was too loud. After doing some research, its best to go for a sports muffler with some baffles like the stainless steel supercats that people on this forum have talked about. I'll be checking up on these somestage these next two weeks.

  9. Im worried with alphamox.. He hasn't been in the forum for the past 4 days.. Any1 can reach him somehow?

    Sorry dude,

I have no access to internet at my work because my boss prevents the use of it and does random checks to see if there have been any unusual net useage. Just want to let you guys know that I'm here and I'm willing to pay...

  10. Hello guys,

After having some intense thought, I'll be going for 18inch wheels. For one I can get good tyres for cheaper price and comfort too. I was looking around and keen on the BBS CH style offered by PDW. They are going for cheap at a wheel place and I believe its 18x8 but my only concern is that is a +35 offset. I'm aware that the stock offset is +45. I was just wondering if this wheel would fit no problems or rub like crazy. I've been speaking to tyre places and I'm getting mixed opinions and hence, I'm relying on someone on this forums that may have some experience with this type of size wheel. I believe that the tyre size will be 235/45R18, but all opinions would be appreciated.

    Thanks

  11. Thanks for the honest advice,

In that case, how much would you budget for suspension on the Aurion?? What parts would you recommend me buying at the meantime. At the end of the day, I won't be hitting the tracks but want to be able to do spirited driving?? I had coilovers on my last car hoping to hit the tracks one day but that didn't happen and hence, that was a total waste of money as I never utilized the potential of my coilover kit.

  12. Hey guys,

Thanks for the swift reply. I'll be going for 19inch wheels. Just done some research and I just realised that Toyota offer an 18inch package from the factory. Therefore going one more inch upwards should not pose as a big threat in the performance of this car. Also, the weight difference between 18"-19" is very marginal in cast format (only 1kg difference). I've got my heart on the Tenzo Cuzcos and the Tenzo Type M's. DJKOR, you mentioned that my suspension will be effected with the bigger wheels, is there a way of improving it or does this come with the bigger wheel??. I had 18's on the mazda 6 mps and it wasn't that bad at all..

Also would anyone know the overall weight of the stocko 16 inch + tyres. How much added weight will there be to 19"

    Thanks

  13. Gidday mate and welcome...I got 20" when i got my ATX,almost a year later i'm thinking 19"might have been a better choice,i have a couple of scrubbing issues on the front, but ya can't beat the look of 20's on an Aurion. I'm getting some Pedders coilovers fitted this tuesday to try and fix this and also clean up the way she handles.

19"Tenzo R (in black) would look really nice, pending on your car color.

G'day 1st kill, I'm in Melbourne and I too own a silver ATX,

damn!!! 20 inch wheels, thats pretty big. Did you find that it hindered performance?? I know that some people upgraded there braking system to cope with the big size. I was thinking Tenzo Type M's in black/machined silver face finish or Titanium finish. They weigh 11Kg each in 19inch and are just a tad heavier that other expensive brands of the same size, eg BBS, Enkei etc

  14. Hello,

I've recently acquired myself an Aurion AT-X after trading in my mazda 6 mps (which had a good tour of duty). After a couple of weeks owning the car, I've already replaced the two mufflers with stainless oval shaped items, bought myself a entertainment unit and awaiting the K&N SRI kit from the USA. After that, I'll be purchasing the Sportivo kit and a good set of wheels to suit. My only dilema is what size I should go?? ie. 18inch or 19inch?? I still want to maintain the power and comfort as it is now with the stocko rims and I don't want to go through brakes or pads due to a bigger wheel. what is the most that the stock aurion brake setup can take before it gives in??

I'm planning to purchase Tenzo R rims which weight between 10kg-11kg depending on the size and style.

    Thanks
