You've done well getting the invoice. My dealer won't release it until the release date. And likewise if my deal is not honoured. There will be a hell of a racket here too.

As did I (negotiated a fixed price). Unless you had it struck out, the paperwork you signed when ordering the car has a clause that covers the dealer for price rises and passing them on. The US Highlander had a price rise, which means potentially we will too. It's not to say that the dealer won't honour your agreement, but if the differential is too high, you might find them pointing you to that clause. I'm hoping the dealers are good to their word.

That matches what I've been told. I'm hoping to have my vehicle by this time next week. *crosses fingers*

"Being prepared for transport" Build and Compliance date Sept 2010. :) latest delivery date - 20th... I hope it's earlier than that. Just did. Asked for a quote on shipping 5 to Melbourne, and asked about if the cost comes down for larger quantities (for group buys). Will let everyone know the outcome. So shipping to my address in Melbourne is $343 (or near $1k express). So. $945 - 5 x tyres (Bridgestone Dueler 245/55R19 $189 ea) $343 - Shipping $129 - GST (will likely get pinged on the way in) $100 - fit and balance (guesstimate) ----- $1517 - total - or about $300 per tyre fitted and balanced. Plus the pain of carting some tyres to your local tyre place to get fitted. I should add - I've not done any currency conversion given how close the US and AU dollars are. So take currency fluctuations into account when working out if this is good for you.

Further to this question, has anyone managed to negotiate these amounts down - like our friends across the Pacific do?

Actually, that's a good point. Need to keep the order sub $1k so as not to get stung on that I seem to recall.

Just for **** and giggles I plugged in the tyres for the 19" Bridgestone Dueler 245/55R19 are $189 each. I wonder how much international shipping is. That's quite a good price compared to local.

My dealer told me the 8th is the wholesale date, and they'll have it a few days after that. I hate waiting. I'm so impatient. Hey PhilG and Pugsly - what colours did you order? I'm looking at a new one in Dark Furnace (a new colour for Kluger but available on the Prado). Went with the boring graphite. :) The wife and I both like it. Let's see who can post a photo of their new kluger up first :)

That always sucks. I guess the joy of living in a much bigger market. Though I wouldn't live there for quids.

Yes I do, yes I did and yes they did. I've seen some of the internal memos and we negotiated based on current price. The dealer was confident that give the small feature change that the price wasn't going to shift.

Fair enough. I haven't seen the GWM ones. There should be some more photos around in the next 24hrs. The Moscow motor show opens today (our evening) and the facelifted model is expected to be announced there.

We are shopping around for prices (Sydney metro). $48.8K drive away sounds very good. We have been quoted $58,474 for the KX-S 7 seater drive away. Is your Dad's a 7 seater? If so, who was the dealer? Also quoted $50,000 drive away for Altitude 7 Seater 4WD metalic paint. Can someone tell me what the difference in driving is between the 19in and 17in wheels? (I know the 19in look better....) $58,474 sounds like the price without any discounts what so ever. They can do a lot better than that. Also, it's only the KX-R that comes in 5 and 7 seat options. The KX-S and Grande are both 7 seater only. $48.8K is a very good price. Sounds close to fleet pricing. You can do much better than $58.474.

Now since I needed a side by side view to really see the differences, here's something I quickly put together with another kluger (KX-R admittedly) in more or less the same profile. Hi Pugsly, I like the new look! Thanks for posting the comparison of the old and the new. I'll place an order this week! Me too - phew! Luckily the cheese and kisses gives her thumbs up too. I hope the back looks just as good. I like the styling changes of the front with the exception of the chrome around the foglights. That looks a bit cheap to me.
