  1. Thanks Croco for the update. I shall do the same. I shall source the oil and filter from Toyota and use a local service dealer.
  2. Thanks guys. I checked up with toyota at Coburg in Melbourne with regards to oil and filter and was surprised to get quoted 75 dollars for 5 litres oil plus filter. I think it is pricey because of the "Toyota" brand. I also saw this sale in Ebay for 55 dollars but with delivery to melb, it would be pretty much the same. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Genuine-Toyota-VVT-i-Petrol-Engine-Oil-and-Filter-Service-Kit-Hiace-Hilux-Kluger-/180738567472?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a14dbad30#ht_927wt_952.
  3. Thanks Croco. shall do that. it didn't strike in my mind of purchasing the oil and filters from the Toyota dealers. Thanks for pointing it out.
  4. Thanks Viper. Any suggestions on which oil is good to use. Also i would like some advise on whether synthetic or semi synthetic is better as well.
  5. Thanks Croco for the details. I had checked out with Toyota and the cost quoted was around $400 which i assumed was too much just for a minor 60k server. Ultra tune had quoted around $230 for the same. They had quoted log book service. I noticed that Toyota uses Valvoline semi synthetic while Ultra tune uses Castro Magnatec semi syn oil. Personally, i feel Penrite is a better oil than all these. But surprisingly, none of them use Penrite. Probably, this should be due to the higher cost of the oil
  6. Hi guys my 2008 kluger (60,000 kms) needs a service. Checked with Toyota dealers who quoted 390 dollars for 60k service. Assumed this is a bit pricey for a minor service. Thought of going to a normal mechanic as long as he does a log book service. Got any ideas on what engine oil is good and any specific filters and what i should be looking out for. Regards
  7. Hi guys, i have a peculiar problem. Got a 2008 Kluger KX-R running 60,000 kms. Couple of days ago, my battery went flat (wife keep the lights on for 2 days). Got an RACV mechanic to jump start this. Since then, i realised that the Car gives 2 long beeps while going on long drives. I have heard the beeps while making right turns on the drive way. The beeps seems to be coming from the glove box on the passenger seat. i dont have any extra fittings- no Sat Nav, no sensors etc. I am not able to figure out this as well. This also does not beep every time i make a turn as well. Probably once in a month or few months randomly. Anyone got any ideas. Regards
  8. Hi guys I would appreciate if someone could explain if they know more on this issue. I have a Toyota Kluger 2008 KX R model (7 seater) which recently got the battery discharged. My wife had kept the lights on and locked the car. A week later, when i tried to get the car starting, there was no battery left. I got RACV to come over and get it charged. The issue now is that the display panel is not showing the average fuel consumption and is blank. i got the clock and temperature recorded in the display which works perfectly fine. But there is no info about the fuel economy. I tried to click on the DISP option but it does not bring any info about recording the fuel economy details. Is there anything i need to get get the information on the Display panel. When i was driving the car yesterday (the first time since recharging the battery), i got a beep once and subsequently after a few hours, another 2 beeps. But nothing after that. Any ideas would be appreciated. Regards
  9. Hi I called up Mr Minit who told me that it would cost 150 dollars to create a new key from the subset keys. So this means that they could do it from subset keys. The only solution for remote is to install a new WARLOCK remote keyless entry which can be made to program with your central locking. I spoke to an installer who said that he could get the unit and installed for 160 dollars. I would also speak to Toyota and see how much they would ask to get a new remote programmed. I am not sure if this ss this the only way to go ahead. Do let me know if someone has got better ideas. regards

    Sub Keys

Hi paul can you give me your details so that i could contact you to make a key for my klugger 07 regards saj
  11. Hi guys I have purchased a 2007 Kluger and noticed that it has only a single subset key and not the masterkey. The previous owner had lost the Master key along with the keyless remote. Apparently they were given only one remote but two sets of keys. This owner did call up toyota who advised that it would cost 400 dollars to create another set of key (not too sure about the remote though). Now, i did read the forum before with people saying that master keys can be made from subset keys. Does anyone have any place in Melbourne where they program these keys. I want to see if there is some place who can make it cheaper than the Toyota dealers. Also with regards to the remote, can we set up a new remote for the car though without the help of old one. I know we can program a new remote if you have the old one. But can you do it fresh without the old remote for the Kluger Please give me some ideas. Hope someone has had some experience in figuring this out.

    Sub Keys

Hi guys can someone give me a place in Melbourne where they make the duplicate keys from Toyota subset keys for 2007 Kluger. I have got only the subset keys and not the master. Also it does not have a remote. Is there a possibility of getting a new remote configured to the car
