Had mine done at Lexus Indro. My pedal sits higher indeed! It takes a little getting used to but it definitely improves the jamming problem at low and high revs. Improves the notchiness problem (but does not remove it). When I queried Lexus about it - my mechanics name was Val (I think) he indicated that the height of the pedal was a direct result of following the Technical News Flash to the letter.

  2. Driving along the South East Freeway (QLD) heading back towards town there was roadworks being done. Speed signs went from 100 - 40 KM/HR. Low and behold there was a police officer (usual at roadwords) but he had a hand held radar!

What I am curious about is can they take pictures or do they need to pull you over to write a ticket? I know in other states (WA,NSW) they are capable of taking still images just like their mobile vans. Is this the case in QLD?

I can only imagine that if he was able to take pictures then there would be alot of people with fines..... :(

  3. I have noticed that its not a smooth transition into Ist gear (04 stivo) even when nearly stopped. It's interesting that a number of drivers with 04/05 stivos report this as a "car characteristic".....

Also I am interested in the fact that people are able to change into 1st from 5000 rpms. To be honest I doubt my gearbox would be able to.

  4. Well I've done 1000KM since the adjustment and in a word CRAP! Got the clutch smell last night (thats CLUTCH) pulling away from a servo (changing at 3000RPM) and no I was not riding the clutch. Gears jam in 3rd now not just the occasional 2cd and 6th ! SST is not getting another go. Its off to Indro Lexus I go !!!!

  5. Dont knock Nunawading Toyota too much

I have puchased 3 corollas from them and they have been great with delivery and service

TRD_141. Am I missing something (obviously). When did you replace the black beast with the new model sportivo? !!! What did you do with the old one? I had noticed that it wasn't parked on Collins St for a while! That explains why !

Err. ... strike that just checked your garage photos. Unless you haven't updated it of course it would seem you have still got old faithfull.

  6. sorry to hear!....where in brisbane did you take it?...if you have any issues let me know and we can arrange for you to see our new mates at lexus of brisbane. they have seen a few of our cars now and have resolved our issues ;)

Had the job done at South Side Toyota. To be honest I am at my wits end. SST customer service is good bu

They seemed to take offense when I asked if they had a mechanic who owned a stivo to work on the car.

They told me that their foreman is taken away and taken for test drives in new models and undergoes training. I indicated that stivos have their own unique characteristics and perhaps someone who drives them all the time would be able to assess my car more quickly.

Took the car for a long drive last night and there is no improvement ... Do any of the Lexus techs have sportivo's?
