  1. Ring up places that do clutches, don't go to your local mechanic. Unless your really friendly with your local mech, he will charge you close to the grand.

I called up a local place near my work, its at South Windsor, think its called hi-tech clutch and brakes. The wanted $550 for a standard clutch supplied and fitted and a Exedy HD ended up being only $100 more. He said it only takes about 3-4 hours.

Wohoo!! I am over the thousand now, dunno if I should be sad or happy. lol

Should get the 2zzge flywheel that YDOIT4 is selling. New clutch and flywheel for 1K fitted WOOT!

As the other guys said, thats a good price...i'll take note about the flywheel...i'll make sure to get that machined...

I rang around places and i got quoted $220 for a HD Exedy clutch kit...good price eyy....

I'll get the clutch done my a mechanic...i guess i'll hunt around and see who gives a good price...

  2. I got quoted $650 for a exedy HD clutch supplied and fitted. Just ring around and I'm sure you can find a good deal.

Where abouts in sydney? i got a good price for the clutch but everyone is charging like 600-700 for labour alone..

hmmm thats a wicked price i wonder dont you have to drop the subframe to do the clutch on these though?

i spose it all depends on that and if it can be changed without totally removing the box i did a camry yesterday i just pushed the box to the side

did you want the flywheel off cause i rekon i could do it if you just wanted an out and in clutch swap provided the flywheel stays bolted to the motor.

have you got a clutch to put in?

Nahh just doing a straight swap...don't think i need to machine the flywheel or anything..

  3. I don't know how many people you'll find who have the equipment + spare time who will do this for a little bit of cash and a carton, there's quite a bit of labour involved. Make friends with your local mechanic, IMO.

    Mate,

I didn't say a little bit of cash.... well i've thought about giving it a crack myself...but we'll see

  4. you finally did it....

now you gotta get the angel eyes....*wink*wink*

yeah finally... but no angel eye's for me.. :D

otherwise i would of paid and got it all done all at once... but can't afford to, like some people ;)

so that last time i saw you, sprayed your stockies eh?

    what else you done?

    Mate, she looks tops.

    What are they 17's?

    Very clean ride.

    Thanks mate...

    yeah they're 17's... :(

wish they came in 18s now though...

Fk All, can't be bothered now to be honest. With the wedding coming up really quick i can't really afford to spend good $$$$ on the car.

Well its not that i can't be bothered is that i'll have to wait till after the wedding. I'll most likely sell the car and get something bigger. I was really looking at the F6 Typhoon... 310kw stock...

  5. Just wondering, has anybody tried to position their muffler in the middle of the rear bumper (for example mini cooper and the astra SRi) i've had a look under a mini and their mufflers are basically on the sides, with a pipe going to the middle of the bumper with the exhaust tip sitting there.

will there be potential power loss in doing this?

I actually rang around a couple of places regarding this, cause i wanted to try and get the r32 golf look

Alot of places said that they didn't want to do it because it was close to the fuel tank. so i guess i'm sticking with my current exhaust system.

  6. Hey all,

Just wondering if anyone on here has Koya rims? What size, and what's their durability like? Do you need to be extra careful?

Also, I went to the Tempe Tyres website (thanks to the member who directed me btw) and I was wondering whether the rims on there are made by them? Because I looked up two of the manufacturers on the actual rim (HP 'Fusion' and Warwick) and I couldn't find any relevant info.

Reason I'm asking is on both of these sites there is a similar rim that I probably will get, depending on price and your experiences with them.

Incidentally, does anyone know where I can purchase Koya rims in QLD? Do I need to get them shipped up?

    Cheers

    J

LOLOL tempe tyres dont make their own rims, the rims on the website are actually well known brands eg. lenso

tempe tyres usually do really good prices for packages, so look around

edit: isnt tempe tyres in sydney ? LOL if ur in QLD hows that gunna work?

wait lols unless they have some sort of online bs thing, my bad

LOL get the kspeed daytona rims

    bg_Daytona_Black.jpg

Not a fan of the k-speed...my mate has a pair and they look pretty cheap in real life.....

    get the lenso type-m

they look pretty hot on white or black corollas

  7. c'mon give him a break. <_<

Whilst modern CATs flow extremely well and are required for legal reasons and for correct engine management , many people believe they are still better off being removed for performance reasons. Despite this I think you've been treated abit roughly

    nice pic ! B)

I agree.... Everyone's entitled to their own choices/actions... Also the guy is from the UK, so their laws may differ from ours (just a guess).

c'mon if australia permitted us to drive around without the cat, don't tell me you guys wouldn't do it...
