  1. Last night spotted a couple of STIVO's.....well im assumming unless they are kitted up accents..(same sh@# diff smell)

Spotted a Black Slack 05 Stivo on great western hwy (around greystanes area).

Spotted a white preface-life stivo at parra road near auburn Maccas

and a cascade blue stivo at parra rd near auburn maccas aswell...

  2. hey disturb3d,

great to hear the stivo is back on the road and all was fixed to perfection :D

just out of curiousity, how did the resprayed panels come out as i have recently had my rear door sprayed in black ink and i have noticed in direct sunlight the black looks a little deeper in colour when compared to the original factory front door. im not sure if its because of the way the metallic reflects against the sunlight as i know it produces different shades of the black in different light.

apart from this though, u cant even the door was resprayed when looked at in other conditions.

    Hi Mate,

To be honest with you i can't tell that the panel has been resprayed, cause the hood and all surrounding hoods were sprayed. To me it looks good as new, even in direct or indirect sunlight.

    Congrats!!!

Good to hear that after all the hassles your back driving....

Was everything sorted with insurance?? Did the other guy have to pay for everything??

Insurance is still being a b@tch. I've paid for the excess for the moment, but i do expect it back...As for the other guy, AAMI done the rego search on the wrong plates. Police even have the information but obviously wont give details out due to privacy reasons.

  3. mine does the same with the stock pads. Started around 12K though, and I have slight shudder when initially applying brakes at higher speeds 80km-100km. Ive got my 30K service coming, up so i hope they fix it then cuz Toyota didnt do jack at my 20K.

I think you need to machine your rotors....had the same problem with my other car, but it would shake like crazy. After machining it was all fine. BTW wouldn't toyota swap your rotors in this case...?

  4. yea ima send my best wishez 2 you az well disturb3d...

i live in blacktown area... really close 2 the m7 and great western & m4. always thought about what if something like that happened 2 me while i was driving along those roads, coz yea ive driven past heaps of accidents on greatwestern, that included fatalitiez *shiverz* imagining myself in that position... with my wife n kid in the car with me... fk i wouldnt know what to do.

stay strong dude - seems thingz are going your way with the police and the witness, hope insurance will be good 2 u as well.

btw which insurance company are you with? if your with AAMI and they screw you around then ima consider changing insurers

Well put it this way....i am deeply considering changing companies. It just Shts me how incompentant these guys are. Apparently, my mate who used to work with insurance, he told me that basically they can access driver details almost instantaneously. My insurance company has quoted 4-6 weeks for a registration check.

    Like seriously, thats bullsH1@t.

Well i guess thats just how it is eyy.

    Thanks for the feedback though

To the original poster, I'd pay the excess. What ****** me off in claims is the amount of people with like, $10000 damage to their car and they're being asked to pay $400 becuase they can't find the at fault driver, bloody whingers. If you've spoken to the Police and they have the third party details, you should be fine. The insurance company just has to contact crash records (usually by email) and they will send the info once investigation is complete.

Mate, i know what your saying here but wouldn't you be pi553d off if someone knew that they hit your car and drove off and there you are left to incurr the damages?

Mate, 400 is not my excess. my excess is like 1k... You start to feel the pain when you've got bills to pay hitting you all at once. Im just thinking why should i drop cash for something i didn't even do. i know that 1k is a fraction of a percentage of 10,000, but money is money, especially when your not at fault.

But i will ask the insurance about the age excess. Thanks for the advice though.

  5. S/C would be safe. Turbo, hmmm, safe too if its tuned well.

Brashboy Japan goes stroking the 2zz + Blitz S/C + Turbo = 320hp <--- quite small for that much of work, but perhaps it was not chasing high end power for valid reasons.

320.....thats heaps!!! my r34 only pulled out 280+hp but then again it wasn't modded highly...

btw what is the prices for stroking as oppose to supercharging?

  6. guys, just found out my insurance company has been doing a rego search on the wrong car. Apparently a new rego search will take another 4 weeks. This really Sh#ts me, this will mean i will have to fork out my excess as my car will take 2 weeks to finish work. Do you reckon it is worth complaining directly to the company for their negligence.?

  7. Thanks guys,

Police just called me on the weekend, apparently they have a positive match on the plates!!!! :D just waiting for my witness to visit his local police station and give his testiment.

I'll just leave all the work to the cops for the moment, and hopefully hear from them soon

  8. Hey Guys....

Thanks for the words of encouragement!!! appreciate it...

Im just gonna hold out for a while till the police come back to me with an answer...hopefully soon, so i can start spending my money instead of putting it towards the excess...

Btw guys i've got photo's of my brand new body kit.....looks quite good...

    Its the smashed look

  9. Sometimes with dual axle trailers it's easy for a wheel to come off it and the driver not notice because the combination of being hitched to the car and the 3 other wheels remaining keep the trailer stable, and at 100km/h, you won't hear much of the sound either.

It's possible he didn't actually know it happened until much later. And then when he/she did, they wouldn't have know at what point it came off.

Well according to the witness the other driver did notice and heavily braked.....and stopped most of traffic behind him....the witness did say that when he noticed my car going to the medium strip, he took off...i dunno mate, but that sounds kinda dodgy to me....

  10. well if u got the plates cant u go to the cop shop and explain all, they should be able to investigate it for u? they should anyway.

1 MONTH!! thats even worse mate i think i'd cry if it happened to me!!!

and excess... i hear ya buddy... but im positive the damage is much more than $1100

Yeah i've got 2 variations of the plate at the moment, its just a specific numeral which the witness was unsure off, but we probably can catch this guy based on the witnesses description.

Yeah i was so annoyed....i'd say i nearly smoked a whole pack of cigarettes waiting for the police and tow truck......1 friggin month....seriously...how unlucky was that....

  11. dude that sucks thats f ing disgusting that they just drove off!

i'm assuming your insured but i hope so dude cos thats shockin some people really suck mate.

(BTW sorry i didnt see nothing cos im in ACT but im just so shocked that these things happen and people just take off)

Yeah mate, im very annoyed considering ive only had the car for less than 1 month......it just got new springs exhaust...very very annoyed.....

Hopefully someone owns up to it.....

Excess is the thing thats annoying me.....$1100

  12. Hi Guys,

Around 5:50 yesterday (7/06/06), I was driving down the great western hwy near the prospect hwy exist, when a tyre came bouncing towards me. I didn't notice it till I smashed into it. The tyre took my whole frontbar and bonnet, smashed my drivers side head lights and quarter panel and abit of damage to the drivers side door.

Luckily a witness in the other direction saw every thing that happened and gave me details of the driver who lost the wheel of his trailer and took off after noticing my car with hazards on the medium strip. Guys, please let me know if you know anything. Apparently the guy was driving a white landcruiser and towed a speedboat (obviously for privacy details i cannot post his license plates) heading towards the greystanes area.

If you know anything or heard of anything can you please let me know,

you can contact me via pm or the number below

    Cheers

Let us know when the next meet is....

  14. Guys,

Has anyone experienced any issues with the first gear of a stivo. The funny thing is all gears shift fine etc, however when your rolling and try to put it on first (whilst still holding clutch down), its heaps hard to put it in. I dunno if this is a factory standard (the inability to put the gear in first while driving), however in all the cars i've driven, i haven't had this problem.

    Cheers
