  1. - You can get the oil filters are any Toyota dealer - The hose adaptor and o-ring come with the filter. Some dealers are low life and may charge you for the o-ring. How much am I looking at paying per filter?
  2. Sorry to bring up an old thread, but with the oil filter: - Where can I purchase one? - Does it come with the hose adaptor and new sealing O-rings?
  3. Sweeet! Looks like all bases are covered. Going to purchase the kit over the net on Saturday! Out of curiosity, what's the difference between these two? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/K-N-Typhoon-Cold-Air-Intake-07-11-Toyota-Camry-3-5L-V6-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQfitsZModelQ3aCamryQQhashZitem2c597d08ecQQitemZ190479927532QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories#ht_1146wt_1165?afsrc=1 AND http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/K-N-TYPHOON-SHORT-RAM-INTAKE-CAMRY-3-5L-07-08-SILVER-/190305777153?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2c4f1bb601
  4. I know this question is for DJKOR, but I can't help but to give a guesstimation.. Answer is, Hell no. SRI Induction sound is pure sex to the ears. Haha! Your reply is appreciated nonetheless! Thanks for your help. Also, with the eBay link you posted up, that item was a CAI and not an SRI yeah?
  5. There is no better brand. You either have the TRD or K&N panel filter replacement, or you have the K&N Typhoon SRI or the Fujita CAI. They would all be about the same. eBay or any American online store that ships to Australia. The K&N kit comes with a complete guide on how to install it. I'm fairly sure the Fujita kit would be the same. For the panel filter replacements, this should be straightforward. A panel filter replacement is as simple as loosening those clips, opening the filter box, and then changing the filter. Installing a SRI or CAI requires removal of the air filter box and all the hoses connected to it either get plugged off or they connect to the intake. The instructions provided with the intake show where these all connect. I wouldn't be swapping out the panel filter or putting in a K&N or Fujita intake with the expectation of getting any power gains. You would only be buying them for the extra service life and induction sound. You should be able to edit it now after the posts you have now made. There aren't all the many DIY guides on the forum here for me to justify making a new thread for it. I will just eventually work on compiling the FAQ's a little better when I have the time. Thanks DJKOR! That makes everything a lot more clearer. I've got just one more question with something you raised. You mentioned that "You either have the TRD or K&N panel filter replacement, or you have the K&N Typhoon SRI or the Fujita CAI. They would all be about the same." Does this mean I have the option of using the easier panel replacement? Would this panel produce an induction noise similar to an SRI or CAI?
  6. Ahh cool, thanks man. I'm just deciding between your CAI or getting an SRI. The whole hydrolock thing is concerning.
  7. Ohh ok, so eBay. Thanks. And yeah, sorry about the broadness, I guess I was hoping to get a rundown on intakes specifically haha. Any potholes (ie, bad brand etc) or recommendations that I should be aware of before buying ? I think I'll be getting a short ram intake; my friend's Integra hydrolocked a while back with a CAI and his engine block blew, wasn't pretty. I found this on eBay, is this good/what I should be looking at? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/K-N-TYPHOON-SHORT-RAM-INTAKE-CAMRY-3-5L-07-08-SILVER-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem56363c768eQQitemZ370277119630QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
  8. Ohh ok, hmmm do you know roughly how much for each? Or even a place where I can get it from (I can get a price from there). Actually, you could probably answer a couple of things for me. With a cold air intake, that would involve me running a pipe to the front of the car yes? (What I gathered from online research). Which mod would I be able to do that would increase sound and wouldn't require me to make too drastic a modification to the vehicle (ie, pulling out the stock and just slipping the aftermarket in it's place)?
  9. Hi guys, just let me start off by saying that I'm the proud new owner of an 07 Sportivo ZR6 and that it is, by far the best drive I've had (which I guess isn't saying much, considering that I've only driven about 10 cars haha). Anyway, I've frequented this site quite a bit to look at information regarding the Aurion, but never posted because I didn't have the car :P. Anyway, I was wondering a bit about a new air intake; I had a look in the FAQ thread and saw that I could just purchase a panel filter and straight swap it with the stock one. There were a couple of things I'd like to know... - Which brand(s) is/are the better one(s)? (I saw K&N, but are there any others?) - Where is the best place to buy the intake? - Is there a guide for actual process to replace the stock intake? With the last question, I had a quick look at my engine bay and saw two clips (which look like they just come off) and what seemed like another hose/cord connected to what I believe was the filter. Now to play it on the safe side, I wanted to ask around here before I did any pulling out, in case I missed anything. So would it just be a straight undoing of the clips, pulling out the old intake and just placing the new one in there? That's what I'm after really, something that just requires me to remove the old one and put the new one in its place. Any recommendations? Oh, and just to make sure, by replacing the intake, I know there isn't any real power difference (or at least it's negligible) but there is a better sound, correct? I just want that extra sound haha. Cheers. On a separate non-car related note, how do I change the "Toyota Model" on the left? It won't let me change it in the "My Profile" section. EDIT: Did a search of the existing forum threads, and reading now at work, so may remove my post if I can't find what I'm after. Or if someone already has the information handy, that'd be nice haha C: EDIT2: Alright, I'm now properly confused as to what I should be looking at. I was looking at this thread (http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=27892&st=0&p=396003&hl=+air%20+intake&fromsearch=1entry396003) and it seems the filter is a panel (http://www.trdparts.jp/english/parts_airfilter.html)? But then in this thread (http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=30652&st=0&p=425053&hl=+air%20+intake&fromsearch=1entry425053) the K&N link (http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=69-8611TS) looks like a pod filter. Which should I opt for? Maybe I should poke around my engine bay for a bit, hmmm... Also, I should probably say, I'm assuming a cold air intake is the same as air intake. I'm no engine-head, but looking at all this has me confused. EDIT3: Also, this is just something for DJKOR to consider, but would it possible to make a thread with all the "how to" guides in this forum, and pin it? That would help with the DIY scene immensely I think. Just my two cents haha.
