  2. Hi been reading the auto probs i see somebody has tried the consumer mob , good luck i think you will find its just another agency set up to give somebody a job they have no power at all no clout its just a token agency . same as the ombudsman , lets face it most of the toyota stuff is imported and the main office is in japan , a few yrs back they got a big fine and hauled over the coals in Japan for fitting faulty parts , and we are thousands of klm away, its the old case of mind over matter. They dont mind because you dont matter there units used to be good you could not kill them , but competition and so called computer management totaly stuffed the car industry and flooded it with cheap crappy parts from china / taiwan / india / and the like all made for just a few bucks in sweat shops by the million . even the top brand cars are now getting big problems ferrari have had to recall many top of the range units because they were bursting into flames i agree Toyota should recall all rav 4s not just a few and they should be made to fix it at there expence no a half and half deals were is there duty of care to the buyer /owner and his safety , maybe they need a big protest and online put down to wake them out of the 20billion dollar snooze they take
  3. It does not matter if the warrenty runs out you reported the problem before it was out of warrenty so the have to fix it to customer satisfaction this applyes to any veicle no matter what keep pushing them

    Rav4 Towbar

I don't mind seeing what we can do with purchasing 2, however you need to check if the price you have is for the V6 as normally that's a 1900kg one. Regards They have 3 Different Towbars to suit, 1 being the standard towbar with Tounge 1200kg rated for $518.00. The Heavy Duty 1500kg with removable hitch (which was the one i required and got the Quote of $588 for). or the Extra Heavy Duty 1900kg rated with removable hitch which costs $705. Either of these Towbars are suitable for the 2006 - 2009 V6 or the 4 cyl Rav's. They are willing to offer 5% discount if 2 vehicles are done. Im going to try and get mine done before Christmas, as i what to take the Boat out during Holidays. Cheers hi i got the H/R 1500kg for $575 fully fitted they come to your works or home City towbars brisbane good value seeing as they come to you just ring and book a day and time tell
  5. you will have no problems mate you wont even know its there but on hills take it out of D and if you sit on about 90 2,500rpm better fuel economy have a great trip tell
  6. Hi we have just purchased the discovery and the approx on that is 1265 so i would definatly check the tare on the sterling again , we drive an 03 rav 4 cruzer we are getting staberliser bars fitted and brake controler fitted by jayco, we told them about the 1500 capacity of the rav they said it would be fine as long as we dont go over like a lot do we dont carry water as we stay at van parks , we take the back seats out of the rav 38kg so we can efectivly pack 38 kg in the back to bring the rav back to normal weight but Toyota work out the tow capacity based on the fact you have 4 adults and luggage in the rav so take off the two adults luggage and the back seats and your rav could be as much as 200kg lighter in the rav its self, we will never put 300kg in the van work it out thats like 23 empty 35kgor more gass cylinders if you need more than that you need a semi not a van and yes the rav needs to be OUT of D to climb hill's take your time who needs to rush ,we towed a jayco songbird approx 980 kg around and up the middle of oz ( see newbi introductions ) we did the speed limits were safe to do so but the rav performed great , the trip did not even know it was there , from bris to broken hill /port agusta cooberpeady /ularu /alice /kathrin . threeways /Isa /longreach / home cost approx $1,460 we did find if you sit on 90k you get better consumption and most vanners out there are doing the same as long as you do it safely and have reguard for others users /trucks /cars etc you will have no problems. go for it we are 65 and in no rush and take only what you realy will use tell UPDATE THE 17/6 DISCOVERY CAME IN AT 1325 TARE AND BALL 86 so the guy in the last post buying a sterling make sure you pin Jayco down on the tare. not a huge difference but you have to factor this in when filling the van the cataloge weights are APPROX ONLY belive the sales person at youre peril .
