If you see a sign that reads "Say NO to crack" and you remember to pull your pants up - You might be a Redneck. (Jeff Foxworthy)

Many years ago a mate had an FC Holden and when he got pulled over he leaned under the dash and unhooked the return spring from the accelerator. He got out and lifted the bonnet and showed the cop who then let him off.

People throwing around the word hellaflush or flush...when clearly its not. mainly the people who are dropped on springs or slammed but with obvious wheel tuck are saying they are flush -.-
This is a fantastic graphic to show the meaning of suspension terminology. Today I learned another useful bit of info.
Thank you Pvt.No

Here's another one

This guy is coming to Briz later this year.

Is it too late to change my vote. The more I look at the first ones the better they seem to be.
Looking good.
-
Both the first and second appeal to me but if I was buying I would opt fot the second ones
What are you going to do with the stock wheels and how much would you want if you were to sell them

Put mah wheelz on
Nice wheels. Similar style to the ones I had a few years ago.

Here are the pictures, sorry I couldn't get them more detailed because the camera just blurs the picture if I try to take too close a picture.
The incorrect spark plug is on the right of the first image, and also has the part no. written in blue, as you can see it's significantly smaller than the other one.
How exactly do I carry out a compression test, what tools are needed, and is it easy enough for an average person with little mechanical know-how to do?
I was originally concerned that the plug may have been too long and hit the top of the piston. I hope this is not the case but if the 'wrong' plug is the long one you may need to get a good look inside to check the top of the piston.

As posted in the 'what did you do to your car today' recently I bought a GT grille for the old girl from the US of A.
Yesterday I picked up my headers (which were looking pretty shabby) from Competition Coatings in Archerfield.
I can't believe I forgot to take some 'before' pictures. I found one in a folder of pics I had kept from a couple years back.
This is a real 'Silk purse from a sows Ear' story. The first pic is really ugly but the second shows the improvement.
Yes these are the same set

Pic removed
Hey mate that is not good news. I'm sure it can be restored to the former glory.

Madness. Maybe something in the front end broke or had a bit of freeplay in the joints somewhere.
-
no, as you are still using the same clutch. the bedding in procedure is only used for new clutches. but it is recommended you bleed the hydraulic clutch line after the sort of work you've done
Oh yeh, well i called toyota, and they said they would charge me $185 in total labour to bleed it after they adjust the height...
Bleeding the clutch is definitely not a $185 job. Surely you must have a mate who is a bit mechanically minded to help out.
This should be an easy fix unless the slave cylinder is inside the bell housing. Two people should be able to knock this over in about 20 mins for most cars I can think of.
-
Nah the first one was a bit more slick.
-
That is really noice. Lowered it looks beasty.
-
The first thing I would have done is a basic compression test to check if there is any difference between the cylinders. If #3 is much more than 10-15 psi lower than the others I feel there may be need for further investigation.
I tried to search on Google but I could not find any pictures of the exact plugs listed here. All I got was confused.
Any chance of some pics of the two different plugs from your car together.

This is not 'What I did to my car today' but more 'what I got for m car today'
I feel a bit bad for the guy selling but I did put in a stating bid of $120.00. He quoted me just under $50.00 postage and has said he will send it as soon as the PayPal transfer clears.
I also bid $4000.00 on a project 28 near Ipswich but the guy who got it must have really wanted it. I believe it had been smashed on the passenger side front which made the hood alignment out by about 15mm on the left side. But with the 18R-G and a rust free body I am sure it wont be a real problem to get back on the road.

If it was anyone here congrats on the great buy.
P.S. And how far were you prepared to go???

Would have to be an ex gf's father's Aston Martin DBS :) :) :) :) :)

This is really interesting. I am not a 4x4'er but I feel your frustration. Never having owned one I speak with minimal experience in such tings but I was wondering if the freewheeling hubs can be switched off while reversing. I remember having to get out in the middle of a creek for my boss to turn the disk in the hubs to activate the front wheel drive.
Would disengaging them help if it were possible?
-
Someone should message them and ask what they are smoking...sniffing or injecting

I got too much projects on at the moment.

New shed in back yard coming soon.

This seems to be a common complaint about most of the newer cars. My BF falcon is the same and I have a mate who has a Maxima and his is the same.
I wonder if it has something to do with the 'fly-by-wire throttle system.
If you value your new baby get some wider rims/mags and a good quality tyres.
And welcome to TOCA
