Well ignorance is bliss guys and i never really had time to look at these finer details.Like some of u correctly said the amount depreciates on renewal and it steadily depreciated in 3yrs to 15709 and thats what I will get as assessor said car is TWO. ANyway for me,this is more than I could get than selling it so praise God. Im not hurt and thats most important as humans bodies are difficult to dent and paint and far more expensive. Thanx for all ur input and concern. Cheers
15.7K isnt too bad.. like you said, the main thing is that your ok :)
EDIT: Did the assessor tell you how much the damage is worth?
No the assessor mustve told the insurance guys.As far as im concerned, thank god its a TWO,as I wouldve have not got more than 10k if I tried selling it.So its all good. What does OP mean? I am with real insurance and theyre really good. From when I called them to the settlement, they made it really smooth.Ive heard horror stories from some of friends about other insurance companies.REAL is GOOD!

someone hit u? it looks like the plastic is still OK from the pics... u can take off the rear bumper and check if the plastiv is actually cracked. if it is then yes u need to replace the bumper. if not just take it to any reputable panel beater and they'll paint it up for u
good luck
Yeah.DOnt think plastic is cracked, just the paint thats gone.Ta

Try a bumper exchange, Most bars can be welded if its just a small crack.

Hi guys,
Do we have site sponsors on this forum? Ones who are car dealers, who can give me a good deal on a new car purchase? Ta
-
Shb i don't know if you know how to search for cars or you are just dead lazy. There are plenty of RAV4 V6 at bargain prices.
If they are too far for you then these are all in Sydney Metro:
Yes laziness is a luxury I relish! You may remember that Im no longer after the rav4,im now after the kluger.Im after a new kluger and alex had pointed out one.Ta for your patience.

Use this website to check on car prices. http://www.redbook.com.au/
2 things you are missing in your post so we can't help you.
1. 5 or 7 seater?
2. FWD or AWD?
I'm going to assume AWD 5 seats. http://www.redbook.com.au/used-cars/details.aspx?R=452437&__Qpb=true&Cr=3&__Ns=p_Make_String%7c0%7c%7cp_ClassificationType_String%7c0%7c%7cp_Family_String%7c0%7c%7cp_Year_String%7c1%7c%7cp_SequenceNum_Int32%7c0&__N=2994%204294942755%204294842752%204294848214&silo=1300&seot=1&__Nne=15&trecs=10&__sid=12E11C46E8A0
So $35k isn't a bad deal
If you think parking a Kluger is hard wait till you try parking a Landcruiser in a shopping centre. At first you will struggle because of the size but after a while you will be use to it and it won't be any issue.
sorry dude,I meant 5seat,fwd.I wouldve loved an AWD but dont think it will come in the budget. It has been ages since I drove a landcruiser, yes it wont be a problem.I was just wondering for my missus. They find it hard to park big vehicles. Its just a mindset that big vehicles are hard to park.Fact is that, its harder to find a space everywhere to park them compared to smaller vehicles.Ta

As I already mentioned:
2010 TOYOTA KLUGER GSU40R KX-R 2WD $36,950 drive away on carsales.com.au
It a new car with warranty and all all-road costs. And it is just a starting point for bargaining :-)
I can do this part for a small fee
Please do explain how you come in here? How much are your fees and is vehicle in Sydney?Couldnt make out.Ta
-
You can start with carsales.com.au to search for lowest price across Australia. Then go to your nearest dealership and get better price :-) You have all the right reason to get good price - old model, previous year built - they will be happy to get rid of it.
Alex
Theres a 2009 kluger kxr 5 with 20k on odo and dealers asking $37k.Is it worth it? I think he should reduce it to $35k,wonder if he will? With the price Im thinking of a driveaway price. Most prices shown on sites are recommended or guideline prices.

I can throw my road bike or mountain bike in the back no problems, with the 2nd row seats folded flat. One bike only. Never thrown another on top. Doubt would fit and probably not a good idea. Suggest pacific bike rack for 2 or more bikes. I assume you're after fwd. I tow a camper trailer weighing 900kg and barely know its there, so power no problems. Drive it gently on throttle and fuel will be around 12l/100kms in city and sub 10 on the freeway. Aside from that car will fit your needs perfectly. 30-35k should get you a 2008 kxr 7 dearer with about 40,000kms.

I think the Kluger will fit your bill. I fit mine and my sons bike in the back with the back seats down - might struggle with two full sized ones though..
Kluger is comfy and spacious and cruises along quite effortlessly. It is no sports car or off-road weapon but I reckon it is a great family car.
Ok will see how it goes, but how is it to maintain mate? Also how about parking? Do you find it difficult to park it in mall parking spaces? Its a v6; as long as it can overtake easily and climb hills effortlessly, works for me.
-
Hi, for $36k you can try to get a new KX-r (5 seat, 2wd), old model MY10. Also demo would suit you. Dealers can very flexible on the old shaped Kluger. You get all rego costs included and get fixed price service $170 for 3 years.
Ta mate, can u post some links for the above.I couldnt find any! Ta again.

Hi guys,
I have a budget of 30k which can be pushed to 36k.I want a powerful engine that is comfy to drive on long trips, easy overtaking and climbs hills easily. Can throw in 2 bikes in the back and easy to maintain. Does the kluger fit the bill and can I find something that hasnt done more than 25-30k on the odo? Im in sydney.Ta

G'day and Happy Australia Day.Ive put an enquiry with discountnewcars for a new cv6.Lets see who comes up with the cheapest and value for money offer.Problem is that unlike the 4cyl there arent many cv6's out there, but let me keep my fingers crossed.
How did you go with this? Any word from the dealer yet?
surprisingly discountnewcars never responded. The sx6 dealer didnt respond when i asked for a mech insp and then called me 3days later to let me know that the vehicle was sold. I dont know what to say.Anyway one of my friends who has a rav4 said that the tyre mounted on the back was a real pain and everytime he had to change a tyre,it would be a huge effort. I want to look at a kluger.
-
1. You keep searching for a Rav4 V6 or
2. Go look at Mitsubishi Outlander V6
I have given up on rav4 v6. I will probably look at a kluger.Dont know much about the outlander.

Hi all,
My budget is 30k,can be pushed to 35k. Im after a powerful engine like a v6,wagon/liftback or suv with low kms.My basic needs are a vehicle which is comfy and powerful for overtaking, climbing hills etc and something which I cant throw in a bicycle or two in the back. I recently lost out on a Rav4 sx6 2009 having 18k on odo and the asking was 33990.My only concern was that there could be some trouble with the car since asking was too low and demanded a mech insp which the dealer obviously wasnt keen and he sold it to God knows which poor soul. There must be something to it.Unfortunately all cv6 Rav4's in the affordable range and kms are in vic or qld. Can someone provide me with some new lease of life on this topic,Im at a paralysis via analysis stage, dont know what to buy. Please help! Ta

Another place to try for your valuations is RedBook
Although it isn't set in stone, it offers a good guide. And looks like you are on the money!
yeah mate I checked out that site already.Ta.What did you mean by "you are on the money"?
I meant that your offer seemed pretty good - the car seems cheap relative to what Redbook says :)
Ok.That part had me worried, and after I asked for a mech inspc the dealer has done a houdini. That means that there might have been something wrong with the vehicle.Anyway if so,good riddance.Ta

Smart move waiting for the end of quarter squeeze!
Cash talks - when a car sits the dealer can claim allowances from the manufacturer on occasion - and he needs the car to go more than you need the funds to leave your bank account.
The worst thing they can tell you is NO
Best of luck!
Ta mate, lets see how it goes!
